Shredder (Oroku Saki)
Splinter (Hamato Yoshi)/Vernon Fenwick
Part of this episode was used in the intro for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Hero Turtles.
When Michaelangelo is dress up as Shredder and attacks the Turtles his grunt sounds like Shredder.
Michaelangelo: (Referring to the crystal converger) See if that gizmo's got a setting for food, bud. I could use a pizza break.
Raphael: Will you cool it with the pizzas? We're after something big.
Michaelangelo: Well all right then - just make it a family-size pizza!
Donatello: Speaking of things shrinking, so's my stomach. Where the heck is Michaelangelo with those pizzas?
Raphael: Yeah, he sure is taking his sweet time.
(Michaelangelo walks in carrying pizzas)
Michaelangelo: Ta-da! All right, dudes, it's scarfin' time!
(Shredder runs away)
Leonardo: He's getting away with the crystal! We must stop him!
Splinter(Stops the Turtles from pursuing Shredder): It is useless to try. He is gone.
Leonardo: I feel we've failed you, master.
Splinter: It is all part of the learning process, Leonardo. Even our mistakes can serve as teachers.
(Shredder swings, Splinter moves out of the way with a backflip)
Shredder: Not bad for a rusty old has-been.
Splinter: One with a face made of metal should not use the word rusty.
Splinter: (Looks down at shrunken turtles) Hmm, it would seem we have quite a large problem.
Raphael: Please, sensei, must you use the word large?
Leonardo: We've got to make it home before we get even smaller!
Raphael: And quick! We're shrinking faster than a pair of cheap underwear!
Shredder(To all four shrunken Turtles): Come back and fight like men, you mutants!
(Shredder holds up crystal fragment, Turtles start shrinking)
Donatello: What's happening?
Michaelangelo: I don't know, but it's like mondo beyondo!
Donatello: (Drags alien out of the lake) Quick, boil some water!
Raphael: We're not delivering a baby, [you] dimbo!
Donatello: I heard it in a movie.
Leonardo(Knocks Shredder down): Ready to say Uncle?
Shredder: Hey whoa, chill out dude!
(Removes his mask, revealing to be Michaelangelo)
Michaelangelo: Come on, it's me!
Michaelangelo: Fer sure, dudes! Had you going there for a while though, didn't I?
Leonardo: (Grabs the Shredder mask) Where'd you get the mask?
Michaelangelo: Hey, I made it from an old pizza tray, where else?
Shredder: And now, Krang... for your viewing pleasure, you are about to witness the final agonizing moments of the Turtles' demise!
Krang: Splendid! Let the show begin. If I had hands, they'd be sweating with anticipation!
Shredder: Net result... Four trapped Turtles. Oh, I made a funny!
Shredder: Who needs Foot Soldiers? When a single foot will take care of you little insects!
Donatello: You'll never get away with this, Krang!
Donatello: Well you have to admit it sounded good.
Krang: (Immediately after Shredder's Commlink breaks) Infernal technical difficulties! And just when this show was getting interesting.
Donatello: (To the giant Shredder) Can't we just discuss this like human beings?
Raphael: Nice try, Donatello.
This is the first time in the show where an organic lifeform actually dies, him being that one alien who begs the turtles to retrieve the eyes of Zarnov.
The scenes where Shredder shrinks most of the buildings plays a similar role to the Sega Genesis game: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist.
Episode included on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Volume 2 DVD.
This episode is included on a TMNT VHS also titled "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles."
This episode perhaps marks the first time one of the characters breaks the fourth wall by telling us that they know they're on a show - Krang's line about how "this show was getting interesting." (However, in the comic adaptation, he says "And just when the show was getting interesting.")
This episode was adapted in Archies' TMNT Adventures (regular)Issues 3 and 4 this proved to be the final adaptation of an episode from the original series, as Archie were allowed to write thier own adventures afterwards, TMNT Adventures went on to have a succesful run, finally ending in October 1995, it remains a popular and fondly rememberd series to this date, and MIRAGE will release the final, incomplete Archie story arc "The Forever War" as a fully written, fully illustrated one-shot graphic novel in 2005.
This episode marks the first time a TMNT character is shrunk, this incident would later happen to Bebop and Rocksteady in Mister Ogg Goes To Town, Michaelangelo (again) April and Vernon in Funny, They Shrunk Michaelangelo and Buffy Shellhammer in Poor Little Rich Turtle.
