  • This episode gives birth to another old turtles villain: The Rat King!

    9.4
In Bishop's Gambit, Bishop tries to complete an army of clone's by capturing Master Splinter, and taking a DNA sample from him, leaving the turtles to escape death at the hands of his agents, and stopping his plans.

This episode is really cool for a multitude of reasons, the first of which is that Bishop reveals the full extent of his plans. I find it neat how he admits he has a secondary goal to wipe out half of mankind in order to keep Earth's population under control. It shows good development, and is also pivotal to the Bishop storyline.

It also gives birth to a new villain, The Rat King, which, in this, is a super human clone of Agent Bishop, although he technically isn't the Rat King until season 4. The action scenes and animation in the episode also prove fantastic. This episode, overall has little flaws, and is great.moreless
  • We see that Bishop is back and has a plan to defend the world from invasion even if it means destroying 57% of the earths population.

This episode had me on the edge of my seat.... The mad man Bishop forces the turtles and there master out of there lair and into the street were he launches a tear gas bomb, and then they pass out. When they wake up maste spliter is gone. They use Bishops train car to get to his base and wile there they go up against a modified clone of agent bishop aka the slayer! The slayer proves to a be a worthy openent. He can go invisable and has fast reflexes. Wile master spliter and bishop face on and other. The turtles defeat the slayer. Then bishop causes the generator to blow up sending him flying into a hook. The scream he made was inhuman! The base catched on fire and the turtles realize that they must leave. Then they see bishop come of the hook and were there should be blood there is a silery fluid... Bishop not human?moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Bishop is escaping his destroyed lab, look closely as he climbs up the ladder. Where there should be "blood," there is a silvery fluid on his coat instead. Obviously, Bishop isn't human, or at least partially.

    • When Bishop shows Splinter the image of President Grant from 1870, signing the Earth Protection Force into being, the other man in the picture looks suspiciously like Bishop, sans glasses.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Bishop: That is the purpose of the EPF, my purpose: to create a new humanity, a new superior race born of enhanced DNA; DNA acquired from genetic manipulation, alien autopsies, and even stole from your sons. But it was your mutated rat DNA makes so nearly human that has allow me to finally complete the process, and for that, I thank you.

    • Bishop: Good. You're awake, Master Splinter.
      Splinter: Bishop!
Bishop: Welcome. Your unique genetic makeup has been very useful to me indeed. In fact, the mutated DNA I'm extracting from you, even as we speak, will help save all humanity, but you look confused. Allow me to explain.

    • Bishop: (to Splinter) My plans are far from over, rodent. You have no idea! No idea!

    • Bishop: You don't understand. I've created life!
Splinter: Bishop, no one has the right to play God!
Bishop: I am taking the necessary steps to defend the world! It is my duty!
Splinter: The world has enough monsters! It does not need yours!

    • Bishop: Not only are these future members of the Earth Protection Force, but they are the new humanity. These clones are awaiting final DNA sequencing. By cellular acceleration, I can give birth to an army within 6 hours fully trained thanks to my advances in bio data transference and your DNA. I've uploaded complex survival tactics into this prototype.
Splinter: What you will do with them? Bishop: Mainstream them into the population, of course. We have aliens out there right now living amongst us. My Slayers will fare them all out.
Splinter: What if innocent people get fared out instead? What if errors are made? Bishop: Not my concern. I'm a bigger picture kind of guy. Besides, my calculations suggest that it would be beneficial if 57 percent of the Earth's population simply disappeared.

    • Bishop: (about his Slayer) Handsome devil, if I do say so myself.
Michelangelo: Okay, now I'm officially freaked out.
Bishop: Oh, believe me, you ain't seen nothing yet.

  • NOTES (5)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Bishop: I have created life!
In the classic horror story (eg. Frankenstein), a scientist endeavors to create life. There was also the old horror movie stereotypical black and white laboratory shown at the beginning.
