  • When Don and Mikey go to test the new shell sub they run into an old enemy. The garbage man! He been sinking ships down to the bottom and slavaging the junk from them. Now he plans to take down a cruise ship and the turtles must stop.moreless

It not the greatest episode ever written for the series but it's still fun to watch. It always nice to see Don and Mikey have their own episode. Also the turtles show more of their wits here since they have to fight the bad guys without their weapons. Mikey is such a goof as usual here. The only thing that weaks it is the garbage man is not a cool as villian as most of other villians we usually see on TMNT like Bishop or the Shedder. It hard to compete with bad guys like them. So it may not be the kicking action we love to see but it's not too bad.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • When the turtles dress up like junk troopers, you can see the shapes of their shells through the suits. So why didn't any of the other troopers notice?

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Donny: Get the doors open while I get the Shell Sub powered up.
Mikey: The doors open? But would that flood the room?
Donny: Dah. The Shell Sub doesn't float in the air Mikey. Now let's move it!

    • Donatello: They say the sea is the last unexplored frontier on Earth, and I would have to agree because what we're looking at is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. And that's saying a lot coming from five-foot tall talking turtle. What started out as a test run of the new Shell-Sub quickly turned into a discovery of bizarre proportions. Of course, all exploratory missions should be undertaken with great caution. If you venture into new territory unprepared, it can really come back to bite you in the shell.

    • Michelangelo: First mate Michelangelo, ready to launch, sir! AH-OOOGA! AH-OOOGA! DIVE, DIVE! Torpedoes away!
      (jumps into Shell Sub)
Donatello: Mikey's my first mate. Wish me luck.

    • Mikey: Uh Don, what's that?
      (points at car)
Donny: (in a little kid way) A car...

    • Michelangelo: (singing) Rule Britannia. Britannia rule the waves!
I don't know the rest of this stupid song!
All I know is Britannia... (is grabbed by Donatello) WHOA!!

    • Mikey: (when he notices the garbage truck) Uhh Donny? What's that truck doing?
Donny: About 30 miles per hour.

    • Garbage Man: YOU LOSE, TURTLES!!!

  • NOTES (4)

    • Rule Britannia

Michelangelo: (singing) Rule Britannia! Britannia rules the waves! I don't know the rest of this stupid song!

Rule Britannia is a patriotic song sung in the United Kingdom.

    • Batman

Michelangelo: To the Shell-sub, boy wonder

This is a Batman reference, specifically the 60s series when Batman had a Bat-everything. 'Boy wonder' refers to Batman's young sidekick, Robin.

    • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

Michelangelo: (to Donatello) Aren't you a little short for a junk trooper?

This is a reference to the line from Star Wars Episode IV. When Luke and Han show up to save Leia, she immediately says, "Aren't you a little short to be a storm trooper?"

    • The Bible

Michelangelo: I feel like Jonah on this freak whale thingy.

This is a reference to the biblical story in which God tested a man after he is swallowed by a large fish, which in modern times has been replaced by a whale.
