Episode Summary

Meet Casey Jones
Raphael is a little cooped up underground with only his brothers and Master Splinter. When Raphael almost clobbers Michelangelo in some brotherly sparring, it's pretty apparent that Raphael needs to get out — let off a little steam. But, when he meets up with Casey Jones, a vigilante erring a little to the right of justice, Raphael must face the reality of his own hothead ways. Luckily, the two hotheads learn to work together when they find themselves in a Purple Dragons' trap set specifically for Casey in the dark, desolate wilds of Central Park.moreless

  • Cool motorcycle episode!

The only reason I liked Ninja Turtles; The Next Mutation was because Raph had a cool motorcycle to drive!

Now on the current version, Don made him a Shell Cycle that's cooler than the bike he had on NT;TNM.

If you like motorcycle episodes, I would recommned this one, very cool!

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

  • QUOTES (6)

    • (While Raphael and Casey are fighting on the ground.)
Leonardo: (To Mikey) He's your brother.
Michelangelo: Oh no, he's your brother.
      Leonardo: Absolutely your brother.

    • Raphael: I guess you could call it fate, but I have finally met somebody as angry as I am and he was really making me mad. My name is Raphael, and the bozo in the hockey mask is about to find out just how angry I can be.

    • Leo: Guys! Check it out! I got my split kick right!
Raph: I missed it. Lemme see it again? (Leo does another split kick) One more time? (Leo does another split kick) Ah, saw that one!
(Casey holds up all 10 fingers)
      Casey: I give you ten!
(Raph holds up all 6 fingers)
      Leo: Hey, Raph! Only six?
Raph: Bro, it's all I got!

    • Splinter: Ah, my son. So angry. Rage is a monster that will destroy you from within. Raphael, a true warrior finds balance in all things.
Raph: Master Splinter. I… I… I... gotta.. gotta get some air.

    • [Leonardo, Michaelangelo and Donatello arrive]
      Casey Jones: Friends of yours?
      Raphael: Brothers actually.
Casey Jones: I can see the family resemblance.
      Michaelangelo: I'm the pretty one!

    • Leonardo: (After Raph apologizes) All right, who are you, and what did you do with our brother Raphael?

  • NOTES (9)

    • Like in the first TMNT movie, Raph is the one to meet Casey. and the same situation too but here Casey is beating up Purple Dragons and not foot aspirant.

    • Villains: Purple Dragons

    • Prologue Narrator: Raphael

    • This is very similar to the first TMNT movie where Raphael was the one to discover Casey, but here he has a thing against the Purple Dragons. However, in the movies he is beating up the recruits of the Foot Clan.

    • This is an/the episode when a one of the turtles try to kill a sibling. For a second there, Michaelangelo was scared to get smashed by his brother Raphael. Viewers were in shock.

    • The previous two TMNT television shows both gave the turtles their own trademark vehicles. The old animated series gave the turtles a personalised truck called The Turtle Van and Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation provided Raphael with his own motorcycle. Although the names of these two vehicles have been change, they are a direct nod to fans of the other two shows.

    • There's an elevator that leads to an abadon werehouse (on Eastman and Laird according to Casey Jones in "Falling Angel"). This warehouse is where they will store their BattleShell and the elevator as well as the orgins of their lair will be explained in "Notes From The Underground"

    • First appearance of Casey Jones, the Battle Shell, and the Shell Cycle.

    • The second and third quote werent even in this episode they were from "The Way of Invisibility."

    • Casey Jones: (banging a hockey stick on a trash can) Purple Dragons, come out to play!

This is a reference to the movie 'The Warriors' when Luther (who looks kind of like Casey Jones, hair at least) says the same thing to call out the Warriors, in his case with empty glass bottles.

    • Akira

When Raphael brings his motorcycle to a screeching halt, it's a clear visual homage to the same classic shot from the legendary anime movie, Akira.
