  • Back from their adventure, Leo and Mikey warn the Justice Force about the Shredder….at least Leo does. Mikey, on the other hand, hopes to fill out an application to join the Justice Force.moreless

I just watched “Membership Drive” right after watching “Enter the Jammerhead.” Needless to say, I liked “Membership Drive” much, much better. For one, there is more action, more emotions, a deeper plot, and sinister villains. It makes me miss even more for the good old days when TMNT was more entertaining to watch. In fact, “Membership Drive” made me disliked “Enter the Jammerhead” so much, I don’t believe I can or will review “Enter the Jammerhead”. Anyway this episode reminded me of “Grudge Match” and “Nobody” when we have Leo and Mikey spend some quality time together. I love when that happens! It is always amazing how different the two of them are. Leo is the serious mature turtle while Mikey is the care free, juvenile turtle. They visit the justice force for two different reasons: Leo, to form an alliance with them against the Shredder, while Mikey just wants to enlist. Once again, Mikey is trying desperately trying to join his favorite super hero group instead of realizing he has been born into one. Yet, it is nice to see Mikey think of a great idea to save the day for a change. How cute was it to see Leo proud of his little bro? The Justice force (or as I like to call them, the X-men doubles) seem to have some new members, Nobody, Raptarr, and Nano. All three of them desperately needed a group to join and the Justice Force is a perfect fit for all of them. It also coincides with Mikey’s story in “The Journal.” Not only did we get the original format, but we saw some familiar faces as well. Besides the Justice Forces, we saw Stockman and Bishop. I only wish we could have seen April and Casey again as well. That is my review. Do you agree/disagree? Either way, just let me know by clicking on one of the buttons below. Thanks!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Nano only acted evil under Stockman's control, but if Stockman hadn't come across Nano he would still be lying in the amusement park. Ironic

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Agent Bishop: Stockman, what do you want?
Baxter Stockman: A new piece of alien wreckage from the invasion has been uncovered. From the report, it could be a power core. Most of the space degree has long since been cleared away. This could be the Earth Protection Force's last chance to find something value.
Agent Bishop: Take the commando unit. Retrieve the piece and report back.
Baxter Stockman: It's always pleasure doing business with you, Agent Bishop.

    • Bishop: Tell me doctor is this your idea of control?
      Stockman: (Shrugs)
Bishop: I'm beginning to understand why your former employer kept relieving you of body parts.

    • Michelangelo: I have always thought my brothers and I were magnets for trouble, and I am right we are. But we are nothing compared to superheroes. Take the Justice Force, they can't lift a finger without trouble finding them. They need a new member or two. Simple enough, right? With an added superhero or two, hang a "help wanted" sign outside your fortress of super dudes, and score some new teammates, easy. Sorry, true believer, nothing is easy when you are a superhero. The Justice Force's membership drive just went to shell, the only question is, will I survive long enough to submit my application?

  • NOTES (6)

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Recruits
When Zippy Lad is questioning three new heroes wanting to be in the Justice Force, two of the three heroes have looks and powers similar to two characters from comic books.

Arrow Boy is similar to Hawkeye from Marvel Comics in the color of his costume and the use of arrows as his main offensive attack. Hawkeye is also known as a former member of the Avengers, which is the group in the Marvel universe that is very similar to the Justice Force in the way it has so many members.

Moleculo is similar to The Atom (Ray Palmer) in the way he uses a belt to shrink to a smaller size. Ray Palmer also used to be part of his universe's big group, the Justice League of America.

    • Nano's new and improve body is a resemble of two super heros. First is his gold body which is like Amazo from Justice League Unlimited who use to be an enemy but now a new member just like Nano. And second is his machine body which is much like Iron Man who are cover in steel.

    • The channel Leo and Don were watching the Justice Force recruitment report was Channel 6. In the classic series, the Turtles always watched April's reports on Channel 6.
