  • Brutally average episode.

While Super Power Struggle is not the worst TMNT BttS episode, it is far from the best. We did get to see the Justice Force again, but in a corny DC comics parody sort of way. The superhero that Raphael took over for, Green Mantel, and obvious parody of Green Lanter, was borring and unoriginal. Everything felt strangley out of character, and seeing once great charcters such as Nobody used for such a dull episode infuriates me. Not to say this episode was all bad, it did have a few good moments like when the original Green Mantel was revealed. The real point is that it was a mediocre episode...and with a season so short it was a mistake to let what may be the series second to last episode be such useless nonsence. We deserved a two part season finale or at least a non-filler episode. With only thirteen episodes the writers should not have wasted this valuable space.moreless

    • Raph: I can't thank you enough for getting me out of the lair Mikey, I'm going stir-crazy.
Mikey: Let's face it, dude, Leo and Donnie don't need out help tracking down Splinter's last few data bits.
Raph: Yeah, and don't get me started on wedding planning with April and Casey. I can't tell a boutonnière from a buccaneer. I'm an action man.

  • NOTES (2)

    • Villains: Dr. Malignus and his robots.

    • This is the second episode where any of the turtles are absent. The first time this happened was in season 4's "Dragon's Brew" where Leo was the only turtle who appeared. In this episode, Raph and Mikey are the only ones who appear.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Green Lantern

The Green Mantle's powers and costume are based off the DC Comics' superhero Green Lantern. Though the only slight difference is that while Green Lantern's Power Ring is ineffective against objects that are colored yellow (which had slightly changed in recent comics), Green Mantle's weakness is its lethality to anything yellow from its planet of origin, similar to Superman's weakness of how Kryptonite are the radioactive remains of Krypton. The original Green Mantle, Al Gordan is named after and bears a resemblance to Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern that premiered during DC's Silver Age.
