  • Jeah Leo is my favourite Turtle!

:) huippua!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • The chain-wielding warrior lost in the first one, but he can be seen fighting in the second round instead of his opponent.

    • A couple of seconds before Leonardo is batting off the arrows, you can see his katanas on his back, and suddenly dissapear again. (The katanas should be on repair)

    • In this version, Usagi appears without his "mon" (badge of his clan) on his kimono. His sleeves are also tied and gathered in all his appearances, which in the comics he only did when working, not fighting.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Leonardo: Note to self: when Master Splinter tells you not to leave the lair, don't leave the lair. Also, do not, repeat, do not follow Master Splinter through an interdimensional portal to a nexus between multiple worlds. But, if for some dumb reason you have done all that, whatever you do, don't accidentally enter into the Battle Nexus tournament, a competition of the multiverse's most skilled and lethal warriors. And finally, if all that does happen, make sure you don't spend any time in the Pavilion of the Past Champions alone. Trust me on this one. It may just cost you your life.

    • Daimyo: Ah, Splinter-san. I see the master of ninjitsu lost to the father in you.
Splinter: Yes, I suppose so. It is just if my sons can win I do not want to stand in their way.

    • Usagi: (shakes head) You will never change, Gen-chan.
Gen: Why would I? You don't change perfection!

    • Mikey: Uh, Master Splinter, are you gonna kick my shell now?

  • NOTES (6)

    • Villains: Ultimate Ninja and his assassins

    • Prologue Narrator: Leonardo

    • Another character makes an appearance from Usagi Yojimbo's universe, Gennosuke, Usagi's "traveling companion" in many of his comics. Usagi is right to question Gen's attendance at the battle royale: he is a bounty hunter, not a samurai.

    • Donatello loses to a creature who loses the next match to a monster straight out of "The King". But back in that episode, Donny knocks out several of those monsters, so by logic, shouldn't have fighting the first creature been even easier?

    • First apperance of Usagi Yojimbo, a comic star in his own right, whose creator shares a friendship with TMNT creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. As a result, he has also appeared in the classic TMNT cartoons and Archie comics.

    • Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Splinter won the first round. Donatello was the only one who didn't.

    • Feudal Japan

Although Gennosuke in not a practicing samurai and has never served a lord, he is the son of a samurai; In ancient Japan, being the child or wife of a samurai put you in the same social class as samurai.

    • Usagi: You will never change, Gen-chan.
Throughout these four episodes, honorifics are used abundantly. Usagi's quote, refering to Gennosuke, uses the honorific "chan", giving Gen an "informal-friend" title. Other honorifics used in these episodes are "san" (common, non-family title), and "sama" (very formal title).
