Show Summary

Television's Greatest Hits is a documentary series that consists of 28 one-hour episodes. It originally ran from April 1992 to September 1999 on BBC in the United Kingdom. This series reviews television shows in British programming and each episode typically deals with a specific year. It generally compares the popularity of the shows with the highest ratings for that year. This series has a news magazine format which shows clips from the shows under discussion. A host and co-host tie the different segments together. The first episode from 1992 reviews the year 1980. The highest rated series for that year were comedies, with The Dick Emery Show having the highest ratings at 18,500,000 viewers. This episode also reviews television coverage of the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. Phillip Schofield is the lead host for the entires series. The co-host from 1992 to 1998 is Frank Bruno and the co-host from 1998 to 1999 is Gaby Roslin. The series is produced by Bill Wilson.

  • I can see how some people say that there are problems with Television's Greatest Hits but I personally think that it is still very enjoyable.

    I can see how some people say that there are problems with Television's Greatest Hits but I personally think that it is still very enjoyable. It's nowhere near some of the other shows that I've watched lately but it's just because those were particularly good not that Television's Greatest Hits was particularly bad. Recommended if you have time to spare.
