    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • The reason Ryoko doesn't know about milk needing to be liquid probably has to do with her not really having a need to eat. All the energy she requires, she absorbs from the jewels. She also doesn't have a sense of taste. She only eats to be social.

      • When Ryoko is trying to feed Taro a bottle of powder, Tenchi asks "What kind of stuff are you trying to give him this time?" even though Ryoko had not previously fed him anything (unless this happened offscreen).

    • QUOTES (3)

    • NOTES (7)

      • Original Japanese version: September 25, 1994

      • Toonami edits: The following scenes are cut from the edited version-
        All shots of naked Taro.
        Taro weeing in Ryoko's face.
Tenchi hiding in the hot spring whilst Mihoshi takes Taro bathing.
Taro doing a pooh in the hot spring when Washu takes him for a bath.

      • According to the family tree as seen later in Tenchi Muyo! GXP, Washu's baby is an ancestor of Mihoshi.

      • When Taro is seen naked from behind, his Mongolian blue spot is visible. This is a small blue birthmark at the base of the spine that is commonly found in Asian babies, but usually fades once they grow older.

      • The opening theme for the second OAV episodes is "I'm a Pioneer", whilst the ending theme is "The Lonely Moon".

      • The song from the second half of the episode is called "Washu's Lullaby"/"Washu no Komuriuta". Yuko Kobayashi performs the Japanese version, and Scottie Haskell performs the English version.

      • This is the first episode of Tenchi Muyo! OAV Series 2.
