AIRED:
Deciding that he wants to lead a more normal life, Tenchi asks Washu to close off the dimensional tunnel- leaving the distraught girls no choice but to begin hunting for Nobuyuki's hidden savings in order to pay for a bus to Tokyo! Meanwhile, the preparations for the school festival give Sakuya's friends the perfect opportunity to arrange for Tenchi to have some time alone with Sakuya, in the hopes that this will encourage Tenchi to reveal his true feelings for her. Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Ryo-Ohki appears to have recovered enough to be able to transform into a spaceship again, and yet none of the girls consider using her to take them to Tokyo.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Tenchi: Anyone who declares their love at the party following the festival, can expect to live happily ever after.

      • Ayeka: OK, everyone. I'm packed. Are you ready to go?
Sasami: Miso soup, hot in the pot.
Mihoshi: Pickles and salmon. I'm ready for jammin'.
Kiyone: Let's move. I'm in the groove.
        Ryo-Ohki: Meow, Meow, Meow!

      • Tenchi: Sorry to call you so late at night. I'm calling to ask for a favour.
Washu: Oh, I'm flattered- what a naughty boy you are!

    • NOTES (4)

      • Original Japanese airdate: July 8, 1997
        Also known as
Bunkasai - Ai no Hajimari - Heiwa no Owari

      • Running gag in this episode: Every time Amagasaki tries to get between Sakuya and Tenchi, Sadako appears from nowhere and pulls a wrestling move on him, sending him flying over the school building.

      • Mihoshi mentions Washu's nurse's uniform. This was last seen in the OVA episodes, but it seems that Washu has the same predilections in this series as well.

      • Sadako pulls the following moves on Amagasaki: German Suplex, Axe Bomber, Elbow Crush, Brain Buster, Flying Cross Chop, Giant Swing and Drop Kick.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Amagasaki: There's no mistake- this is the mask of the famous female wrestler, Ikarinu Sadako.
It is likely that Ikarinu Sadako is named after Ikari Sadako, a real life Japanese pro-wrestler in the late 1940's to early 1950's. Sadako was one of the first well-known female wrestlers.
