    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Lionel claims that he can't use his karate unless he warns his opponent first, but previous episodes like "Rose Tucker's..." and "What Are Friends For?" contradict that.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Mike: (about Lionel) What is he, stupid?
E.L.: No, I used to think that, too, but the man has a thing called principles.
        Mike: He's stupid.
E.L.: No, no. It's very, very close to being stupid, but it's not the same thing.

      • Lionel: Stop it! I don't want to hear another word!
E.L.: All I was trying to do was save your business.
Lionel: Save it? With deceptions and con games and lies?
        E.L.: No, with money.

      • Lionel: Maybe we could solve this case.
        E.L.: Yeah.
Lionel: Maybe we could, as the saying goes, "catching the bad guys."
E.L.: Maybe we could, as the saying goes, "catching a permanent case of rigor mortis."

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • E.L.: This makes me sound like Kato.
Referencing the character created by Fran Striker for the radio series The Green Hornet (1936). Kato is the chauffeur, mechanic, and valet for the title hero, and in most versions is an expert martial artist. The character's appearance in the 1960s TV series, portrayed by Bruce Lee, paved the way to Lee's roles in feature films.
