When Alex, Xander, Sarah and Cameron meet for the first time to initiate a deal for the chip they speak about the '80s, "far back" (when the Army started to show interest in AI technologies). Alex states: "That's how I mark the decade: for me the '80s will always be Duran Duran." "Duran Duran, I loved Duran Duran..." Sarah replies. Way later in this episode when the chip deal is done Sarah closes the table by saying "Dōmo arigatō". Alex: "I didn't know... you spoke Japanese." Sarah: "I was into Styx before Duran Duran. Styx is a pop-rock group founded in the '70s and released in the early '80s their hit-single "Mr. Roboto". This song represents the use of technology and robots in the '80s and features the memorable line "Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Roboto, thank you very much, Mr. Roboto..." That's probably where Sarah picked up that line of Japanese.
