The fact that this was only a 13 episode 1st season, yet wasn't a mid season replacement, would seem to indicate this is a very expensive show to produce. Fox may not be willing to take a risk with a second season as a result. A possibility is that Fox will buy a second season if the budget per episode is reduced, and if it is you're bound to see less of the special effects oriented plot elements and more of the interpersonal drama elements, since they're cheaper to do.

The show is full of holes. The writers need to get their act together. Even after the 10 episodes that I have watched so far the holes have not been filled. If the holes are not all filled before the end of the first season it will be a disaster. The audience won't stand for another FlashForward or The Event. The audience wants to be treated fairly, not dragged along being given crumbs. Enough bun, we want the beef!

    I won't argue "The Event..."

But "Flash Forward" was fine... the pacing was fine, the writing was good, and the acting was solid. Sure, the whole reveal was slower than some people wanted but it was a season-long mystery that was supposed to go on even longer... what do you want?

That was one of the few shows that I miss from that year/season.

Terra Nova, I could take it or leave it.

I would hope that if they cancel it we end with some sort of resolution. The holes are filling up slowly.. they aren't great explanations but they are explanations at that. The origins / meaning of the symbols, what the Sixers really want, why their leader is doing this, what the future really wants from the past, inklings of why the son hates the leader, who's the mole (and why).

Not a lot of plot holes or mysteries left there.

I really do like this show. but i fear it may head down the same road terminator did. may get a second season like terminator did but after that who knows...

I'll keep watching. and if the writers do know the end is near i hope they end terra nova on a good note and not leave a cliffhanger that may never get resolved.

I get nothing from this show.

Who would make a show like this? The cruelty of the TV executives that ordered this, who would ever force a writer to write such nonsense show?

If season 1 is not wrapped up properly, I would like a season 2. I'm still loving this show right now.

I really wanted to like this show. I've tried hard & watched every episode willing the writing to improve but to no avail. Its just a bit lame over all. Such a pity as the concept & a few of the actors have such potential. Maybe if they had a clearer target audience? I'm a pacifist at heart but would be willing to make an exception for the Shannon son. So incredibly irritating!

Shame really but I don't see how this show can justify a second season. Shame!

Which is why I think it will get renewed. Plus, It's associated with a big Hollywood name.

While I would like to see a second season, I am inclined to say 'No'. Networks are generally pretty quick to pull the plug on shows. Terra Nova started with a decent premise but most of the subsequent episodes were garbage. However, it did start to improve towards the end but that will probably prove too little, too late.

All the hoopla about the show probably hurt its chances as people had very high expectations and, when those weren't met, tended too feel let down and negative about the show. Less initial fuss might have let the show find more acceptance, (although several of the episodes were just bad anyway...)

If they do have a second season, I thinkdisposingof 'Josh' in a grand manner in the first episode would greatly improve the show... Graphically torn to shreds by a pack of velociraptors could help the ratings tremendously...

I'm down with that. He reminds me of Tyler in "V".
