Tex Ritter's Ranch Party was a classic country nad western TV show that aired on ABC from 1959 to 1961. The show was hosted by Tex Ritter, a music and movie star of the era. Ritter was known for his work in cowboy movies and his career as a singing cowboy who had such hits as, "Do Not Forsake Me O My Darling." Tex Ritter's Ranch Party featured traditional country entertainers, singing cowboys, and rock singers of the day. Some popular entertainers who appeared on Tex Ritter's Ranch Party were The Collins Kids, Carl Perkins and Smiley Burnett. While many country shows of this period did not feature rock and roll acts, Tex Ritter's Ranch Party offered viewers some cutting edge musical acts.
