When Tuesday night in the early 1950s rolled around, the streets were completely deserted, and all the shops were closed. Why was this happening? Because it was time for the Texico Star Theater with it's host, Uncle Milty himself,Milton Berle. Milton set a trend as one of the first television superstars. His comic antics on the show inspired many other verity programs, and it became an inspiration for many other comedians. The Texico Star Theater became the first great ratings success as everyone droped whatever they were doing on a Tuesday night at 8:00 P.M. in order to watch it.
