Episode Recap

At W.B.'s office, Hyde tells Donna about his first family dinner with his new dad and sister as the rest of the gang looks around the office. Fez is impressed by the peppermint patties on the desk. Eric says that he's impressed by the fact that he found 20 dollars just lying on the desk, and adds that he took it. Kelso is impressed that W.B. knows Skynyrd. W.B. comes in with Angie, who tells the gang that she's a math major; Kelso tells her that he needs help building a rocket. Jackie hugs her, and tells Angie about the group. W.B. gives them all 20 bucks each, but Eric says he's already got his. [Opening credits.] [Scene change: Hyde looks up at the camera while Jackie dances.] In the Forman basement, Angie comes in with cupcakes for everyone, and a special one for Hyde; it's vanilla on the outside, and chocolate on the inside. Jackie takes the one that Kelso wanted; Kelso claims that this is why they broke up, but Jackie points out that they broke up because he cheated on her. Angie tells Hyde that she doesn't know much about him, and wants to know if he played sports when he was younger, so he tells her about a game called "stoop," where you sit on the stoop and chuck things at passers-by. Hyde asks her if she's nervous about her first day of work tomorrow, and tells her that it'll be the easiest job she ever had. He tells her that whenever he thinks about working, he just remembers that he's the boss's son and goes to the local bar where he plays darts and drinks beer. [Scene change: Hyde's face in a close up shot.] At the hair salon, Kitty and Red come in; Red thought that he was going to the hardware store and says that a hair salon is no place for a man. Fez comes up; Red leaves. Kitty sits down and asks for the gossip; Fez compliments her hair and asks if she has sparkles in it; she tells him that she was working on a new costume for Eric to wear at the roller disco. Fez laughs and says he's going to tell everyone but Kitty points out that Fez used to do roller disco, but Fez says that he only did that when he was younger, and now he's into more mature things, like robot dancing. Kitty swears him to secrecy. [Scene change: Fez dances towards the camera.] In W.B.'s office, W.B. tells Hyde that it's come to his attention that Hyde has been slacking off to go play darts, and Hyde says that it's something to do while he drinks beer. W.B. says that yes, Angie mentioned that too. Angie comes in and is shocked when Hyde isn't fired, but then pretends to be happy that he's not being fired. In the Forman living room, Kitty comes in and calls Eric a roller disco king; he tells her to be quiet and keep it a secret. She tells him that the Bible says that keeping secrets is a sin, and adds that he should share his secret because people are going to find out eventually. He says he's not going to tell anyone because he takes quite a bit of crap just being the regular him. He finally agrees to think about it. [Scene change: Eric falls on the screen.] In the Forman driveway, Donna comes in and Fez tells her "I know something you don't know," and says it's about Eric and what he does on Wednesday nights. Donna says that Eric takes a home Spanish course on Wednesdays; and that by now, she's sure he's rolling his Rs like a pro. Fez tells her that he's rolling his ass off, not his Rs. In the Forman basement, Hyde tells Kelso, Jackie and Eric that Angie set him up, and he should have known. Jackie asks who Angie thinks she is, saying that she can't pull Hyde's strings -- that's Jackie's job. Eric asks them if they ever wish they were on wheels when they dance, which they all think is a very weird question. Kelso says that he's just too good looking and that's the problem. Eric goes to his room to 'study Spanish.' Angie comes in and Kelso says she's there for him. Angie tells Hyde that her dad promised her the business and she's not going to share it with him. Hyde tells her that ~their~ dad wants him there. She tells him to quit tomorrow. In the Forman driveway, Fez, Kelso, and Donna peek over the fence and watch the Forman house. Eric sneaks out of the back door, comes out into the driveway wearing short shorts, rainbow suspenders, and is on roller skates. He puts on headphones and boogies off, dancing to the music. Donna asks "What the hell was that?" and Fez tells her, "that's what's left of your boyfriend." [Scene change: Jackie smiles up at the camera.] In the Forman living room, Jackie asks Hyde how he's going to fight Angie; he says that she's asking him to fight for a job, and that's tough for him to do. She says it's her company that they're talking about and justifies this based on a Valentine's card that she gave Hyde last Valentine's Day. Red tells them to get used to being screwed over by family; Kitty says it's a cynical point of view, and Red points out that Kitty and her sister don't get along. Fez, Kelso, and Donna come in with shocking news; Kelso tells everyone that Eric is a roller disco-er. At the roller rink, Eric skates around, compliments another skater, and then gives his special tape to the DJ to play. The DJ introduces him as "Rainbow," and Eric starts roller dancing with a girl. After one of his moves, he sees his family and friends standing there and falls screaming to the floor. [Scene change: Eric is falling, Donna is jumping in the air.] At the office, Angie sees Hyde; he tells her that he's not going to stoop to her level, but Jackie will. He points to the water cooler, where Jackie is surrounded by other employees. Hyde tells Angie that Jackie is telling everyone that Angie stripped her way through college; but not for the money, but because she liked it. Jackie laughs and says, "I know I know, what a whore!" Hyde tells Jackie that if there were ever a game show called "Make That Girl Cry," he'd go on it with her, and Jackie says that they'd win the car. [Scene change: Jackie jumping in the air.] In the Forman kitchen, Eric comes in and Kelso announces "It's Rainbow!" Kitty says that they all love him and it was a good thing that she told Fez. Donna asks how this happened; Eric explains that he was at the sporting goods store, and he saw some roller skates, and tried them on, and the next thing he remembered he was in the park, spinning and spinning. He adds that he met some people there. Kelso calls them freaks, but Eric says they're just like you and me, but on wheels. Red tells a story about a boy who wanted to be a ballet dancer, and everyone laughed at him, but he became a dancer with the NY City Ballet, and when he came back to town... Eric interrupts and says that all the bullies must have learned a lesson, but Red finishes by saying that they beat the crap out of him. Kelso says that Red's problem is that he (Kelso) is too good looking. Eric says that he can't give it up; Fez suggests trying something else, like robot dancing. At the office, Angie comes in and tells W.B. that Hyde is telling lies about her; Hyde points out that it's not him; it's Jackie. W.B. wants to know why Jackie is always there. Angie says that if Hyde stays, she's leaving, and W.B. tells them that he's opening a new record store and wanted the two of them to run it together. Angie says that they'll work it out and their fighting was just sibling rivalry. W.B. leaves, and Angie tells Hyde that she'll work with him, but that doesn't mean that she likes him. Hyde doesn't care, because he doesn't like her either. [Scene change: Hyde punches the camera, Eric jumps up and kicks the air.] In the Forman kitchen, Eric throws his roller disco stuff in the garbage, and sadly tells the gang that at the roller rink, he was a star. [End credits: In the Forman basement, Eric and Donna kiss, but she starts laughing at him, because when she looks at him, she sees him in his "Rainbow" outfit, and she has to leave.]
