When Eric and Donna are on the water tower, you can see the pot leaf that the gang painted there in the first season episode, Water Tower.
The music used in this episode was:
Surrender (1978) by Cheap Trick;
Don't Look Back (1978) by Boston;
Blue Morning, Blue Day (1978) by Foreigner;
Isn't It Time (1977) by The Babys;
Maybe I'm Amazed (1970) by Paul McCartney.
(Eric tries to pocket the engagement ring he didn't give to Donna)
Eric: So I'll tell you what; why don't I just hold onto that until the real moment comes?
Donna: Sure. Or I could hold on to it.
Eric: You could?
Donna: Yeah. Eric, I love you and I want to be with you forever.
Eric: Yes! That's what I told everyone! And they made me wear the stupid helmet!
(Donna puts on the ring)
Eric: Did we just get...
Donna: I think we did.
Eric: Donna I love you!
Donna: We are so stupid!
Eric: I know!
Kitty: Red! Schotzie is a poor little animal with small breakable legs! You can't throw him around the room like you would Eric!
(while buying a gift for Donna)
Clerk: Okay, okay. Oh, how about a promise ring?
Eric: Oh, don't even get me started on promise rings!
Jackie (to Hyde): Okay look you! I've been thinking about all your conspiracy mumbo jumbo about presents and diamonds and buying me stuff. And I've realized that all your paranoid, delusional crap about romance is just a cover-up for you being cheap!
Bob: Well, if you really wanted to cheer her up, you should have bought her a banjo!
Red: A banjo, Bob?
Bob: You can't hold a banjo and not smile.
Red: Bob, you can't hold a potato chip and not smile!
(Bob grins and nods)
(after seeing Eric and Donna kiss)
Kitty: Oh, you two make me sick!
Eric: Looks like my mom, but... speaks like my dad.
Charlie McDaniel (Re-recording Mixer), Craig Porter (Re-recording Mixer), and Vince Rohr (Production Sound Mixer) were nominated for an Emmy in the category of "Outstanding Multi-Camera Sound Mixing for a Series or Special" for their work on episodes 5 through 10 of this season.
(the guys make Eric wear 'The Stupid Helmet' after he tells them he's going to ask Donna to marry him)
Eric: Why not? I mean, come on. We already know that we're gonna be together forever.
Kelso: No, you think that you're gonna be together forever.
Hyde: Remember how you were worried about screwing things up? This your Bay of Pigs, man.
Fez: Yeah, even in my country, we weren't stupid enough to get married in High School. And we eat bugs!
Hyde calls Eric's engagement plans his "Bay of Pigs." The Bay of Pigs (April 15 - 19, 1961) was an invasion plan, funded by the US government under the Kennedy administration; armed Cuban exiles attempted to overthrow the Cuban government of Fidel Castro, but failed. The event became an embarrassment for the US government with lasting repercussions.
