  • Lance reminds me of Mitch.

    8.0
Lance reminds me of Mitch because first of all he is super-weird, second of all he worships Donna, has anyone noticed that, anyways I like this episode because they make a lot of references to "The Six Million Dollar Man" And I always make fun of that show so it's good to see a parody. It was informative cause I guess it gave rules on breaking up & not being needy> i wanted the Fez/Nina relationship to last! But it was an awesome burn when Fez dumped her. My favorite line is when Fez screams "That was from my cousin in Hong Kong!" A decent episode.moreless
  • It's not me, it's you - what a way to get dumped!

    8.0
This episode is pretty funny even if basically nothing happens. With Fez and Nina splitting and Fez becoming proud of the needy guy he is, while burning Nina is a great plot, as is the creepy Lance and the gang trying to find a new friend, which doesn’t sit well with Jackie. The moral of the story being to do what you always do is pretty funny, especially when it involves doing nothing and getting high.

There were a lot of funny moments in this episode but none that really stand out as classic or outstanding. The break-up, the recipe swap, and the friend hunt are all fairly solid plots and make for an entertaining episode but the plots aren’t completely creative.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Donna: You guys, we're going to graduate in two months, and there is a whole town out there, just waiting for us.

This puts the date of this episode some time in April, 1978.

    • The gang sees Fez's bedroom for the first time, and they're amazed by all the stuff he has, especially the race car bed. This bedroom is very different from the one that we saw in season 2's Jackie Moves On, when he called Jackie from his room to ask her out on a date. At that time, his room was very plain.

    • Kelso is wearing a t-shirt with Dirty Harry on it saying "Go Ahead, Make My Day". Sudden Impact was the first Dirty Harry movie to use that expression and that film didn't come out until 1983.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Nina: Fez, you know I've had a lot of fun hanging out with you.
Fez: Hey, thirty-seven times of fun, to be exact. It would have been thirty-eight, but you know... and then again, I apologize... now, enjoy your meal. If you need me, I'll be smelling your neck.
Nina: (moves away) Fez, I'm starting to feel like I need some space. But I want you to know, it's not you, it's me.
Fez: Okay. Well, I guess tonight, I'll be doing number 12,377 of the other thing.

    • Red: You know, instead of adding someone, maybe you should think about weeding out a few. (to Hyde) Like you... (to Kelso) and you and... (to Eric) you.
      Eric: I'm your son!
      Red: I can't play favorites.

    • Lance: Mrs. Forman, I think we both know the real reason you invited me over here. You're after Mother's coveted peach cobbler recipe, no?
Kitty: Your mom makes peach cobbler? I had no idea!
Lance: Please, let's speak frankly. I have something you want, and you have something I want.
Kitty: We're not in a... in a position to just give you Donna.
Red: We could give you Eric!

    • (after swapping recipes)
Lance: Excellent. Mother will be most pleased.
Kitty: You be sure to say 'hi'. Such a nice lady.
Lance: Please, Mrs. Forman, there's no need to keep up the charade.
Kitty: Fine. She's cold. Get out.

    • Fez: You know what, Nina? There's only one Fez. And that is a Fez with needs. And if you don't like that, then we shouldn't be together.
      Nina: But, Fez, I...
Fez: Shhhh! Sorry, Baby, it's over. Oh, and, Nina, it's not me, it's you.

    • Eric: You know what? We've only got two months until graduation. And we can't waste a second of that!
Hyde: Forman's right. Let's seize the day, man.
      (cut to... in the circle)
Hyde: (laughing) Hey, weren't we supposed to seize something, man?

    • Hyde: We can make him cooler, suaver, aloofer.
Eric: Aloofer... is that even a word?
Hyde: We can make it one... we have the technology.

    • Fez: Am I too needy? Tell me...I need to know!

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • This episode contains many references to The Six Million Dollar Man; at the beginning of the episode, that's the show that the gang is watching on TV in Eric's basement. Fez's fantasy of being rebuilt so that he's not so needy also references the opening "rebuilding" operation scene from the show, particularly Hyde's line, "We have the technology."
