That Peter Kay Thing

Show Summary

Like Kay's The Services before it, the show proceeds as a spoof documentary and captures six different yet similar slices of life in Bolton, with the now-familiar cast of Phoenix Nights playing multiple roles. Each episodes focuses on a different set of hilarious characters, including Brian Potter and the staff of the ill-fated Neptune club. The back story of Potter and the others is told here for the first time. If more restricted than Phoenix Nights, That Peter Kay Thing is still winningly hilarious and, unlike other BBC comedies which have since copied its format, extends a deep generosity to the people it lays bare on the screen.

  • The start of something Great!

    8.0
When i first originally watched this series I didn't know whether it was fact or fiction due to the way the episode "the services" was filmed. But when u keep watching it you realise it is something special. This series gave the world the characters for the hit series PeterKay's Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddys Road to Nowhere which shot Peter Kay to stardom. A must watch to see where it all startedmoreless
  • Good Series, Phoenix Nights's Predeccesor

    8.0
That Peter Kay Thing is a good set of shows on which many of Phoenix Night's characters, such as Brian Potter and Keith Lard, debut.

Thes storylines are great, especially for Episodes 2 and 3. Peter Kay plays the characters brilliantly as do many other supporting actors/actresses. A good series which is highly recommended!
