      • Mama: When you gonna stop going around with them tramps?
Clifton: Mama, just because a girl likes to have a little fun don't mean she's a tramp. In fact the young lady I was out with last night happens to be an honor student in college.
Mama: I don't care how good she does in class. It's her homework what worries me. Now Clifton, mark my word the life you're living is gonna lead to nothing but a whole lot of trouble.

      • Mama: When are you going to settle down? You're worrying me to death running around with a different girl every night and getting to bed at all hours.
Clifton: Mama last night I was in the bed by 10:30.
Mama: What are you talking about? You didn't get home until four o'clock!
        Clifton: Mmmmm hmmmm.

      • Judy: You're the daddy and you're gonna marry me.
Clifton: No I'm not and no I'm not.

      • Clifton: Who are you?
Judy: I'm the mother of your baby!

      • Clifton: Well anyway, what are you doing here in Washington, D.C.?
Judy: Well I'm here to get married.
        Clifton: When?
        Judy: As soon as possible.
Clifton: Oh. Who's the lucky guy?
        Judy: You.
        Clifton: Me?!
        Judy: You.

      • Mama: Now you gotta stop thinking about fun and pleasure and having a good time. It's time you started thinking about marriage.
Clifton: I Thought about marriage and it was my thought that I would stop thinking about marriage.
