Episode Summary

The Ghouliest Show on Earth
The gang heads to Dooville to see Scooby's family, and arrives just in time to attend Professor Phantasmo's Circus Fantastique, where everything is free. Soon Scooby and Shaggy come to realize that the calliope music that plays in the circus is hypnotizing everyone into not noticing that it's a "circus of living evil". Flim Flam, however, becomes entranced by the allure of the circus, and decides to become Phantasmo's business partner. Further complications ensue when Bogel and Weerd begin meddling in matters.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • In this episode Scooby's parents look a lot different (and older) than when they appeared in another episode. Also, when they meet at the circus and do the tutu greeting, they look a lot like they do in the New Scooby Doo Mysteries.

    • It's quite odd that Scooby's family has a whole village all to themselves.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Scrappy: (sighs and sobs) Gee, there's no place like home.
Shaggy: Yeah, but like how will the Doos get their home, home?
Flim Flam: No problem guys - when you're smart as a whip! (cracks Phantasmo's whip and it snows outside the Doos' home)
Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy, and Daphne: Flim Flam!
Flim Flam: Hey, what did you want from me? It's a defective whip!

    • Scrappy Doo: Gimme a DOO!
      Gang: DOO!
      Scrappy Doo: Gimme a VI!
      Gang: VI!
      Scrappy Doo: Gimme a LLE!
      Gang: LA!
Scrappy Doo: What does that spell?!
      Gang: DOOVILLA?!

    • Title: The Ghouliest Show on Earth

This is alluding to the well-known phrase "The Greatest Show on Earth" which is the slogan of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which started in 1870 and is still around today.
