The 4400 Season 4 Episode 13

Previously: Danny takes the Promicin shot while Shawn watches. Cut to Danny and Susan sitting outside, Susan's eyes are bleeding. Cut to Tom talking with Parrish saying Isabelle is on her way to Jordan. Cut to Tom with Jordan in a chair about to mark him. Cut to Diana confronting Tom about being marked. Cut to Marco telling Diana they are going to have to kill Tom. Cut to Diana shooting Tom.



We hear the sound of a pounding heartbeat. Tom is laying on the floor while Diana and Meghan are over him. Diana says she had no choice. Screen blinks out to black. Shawn is now standing over him but Diana says they can't heal him yet. Screen blanks out to black. Marco brings polonium; Diana injects it into Tom's spine. Screen blanks out to black. Diana wipes Tom's forehead. The heartbeat sound becomes a flat line.



At the hospital, Danny moves with the paramedics as they wheel his mother to the ER. He's outside the doors and starts a conversation with one of the paramedics. The paramedic tells Danny he should prepare himself for bad news and that she's a textbook case. Danny, "Case of what?" Paramedic, "Promicin death." Danny says she didn't take the shot. The paramedic starts coughing. Blood starts pouring from the paramedics' nose. Paramedic falls over. Two employees rush to help him.



Back to Tom. Shawn's got his hands on Tom's chest. Still flat line in the background. Diana, Marco and Meghan watch. Meghan is crying. Shawn yells and stops. It's not working. Suddenly Tom gasps and his heartbeat normalizes. He pulls the gauze off his abdomen- the gunshots are healed. Everyone is relieved. Tom cries, "I think I killed people."



Danny's walking down the hospital hallway behind the paramedic on the gurney. He tells the staff pushing the gurney he just collapsed as they were talking, like what happened with his mom. Doctor comes over to Danny to ask about Susan's insurance. Suddenly she starts coughing too. Cue nosebleed. She convulses on the ground as Danny looks up and sees a bunch of hospital workers and patients coughing, bleeding, and seizing. He looks around in panic and runs out the front door.

Tom washes his face at the sink, then looks up and punches the mirror. Meghan comes in and they talk about what happened when he was marked- all he can remember is a few bad things. Meghan pep talks him.



Abigail's in NTAC briefing Diana, Marco, Garrity and Brady on the hospital being quarantined. Brady suggests that maybe someone is going around the hospital injecting people. Garrity says that would take too much time. Marco suggests that someone took the shot and their ability is to spread Promicin. Abigail mentions that for everyone who died, someone else will get an ability. They're hopeful because no deaths have been reported outside the hospital.



Shawn's watching the news on the quarantine. Joanna walks in to tell him Danny is outside and won't come in or let anyone near him. Shawn goes out to talk to him and Danny tells him it's his fault everyone's dying and he can't do anything. Shawn says they will get Birkhoff to give Danny some inhibitor. Danny tells Shawn about their mom. They hug.



Jordan's still tied to the chair. Isabelle walks in. Explains that she wanted to change but she has no choice, it what she was created for. Jordan wants her to kill him. She walks toward Jordan when Parrish busts in.



Parrish and Isabelle are outside. Parrish tells Isabelle she wasn't supposed to talk to Jordan. Isabelle says she's ready to go and wants Parrish to release her father. Parrish says no, not until they get everything they want. Isabelle walks away saying she's going to get her father herself. Parrish stops her by using the kill switch they put in Isabelle.



Kyle holds a press conference making sure the press knows that the movement has nothing to do with the hospital. He also tells them that Jordan has been abducted. Kyle offers Seattle help from Promise City.



At NTAC, they watch the conference. The TV switches back to a newscaster outside the hospital. Just as NTAC gets information that the scene inside the hospital has quieted, the newscaster starts coughing. Cue blood. Cue uh-oh faces. Suddenly, Ashmore starts coughing and convulsing. Diana tries to seal off NTAC. Brady starts bleeding.



Marco and Abigail discuss the consequences. Diana comes in saying the worst is over for them, but that someone must have gotten out of the hospital. The district is quarantined and surrounded by the Army. Diana asks about the Promicin test results. Everyone who survived is positive except Diana. They speculate it's because of the early version of Promicin Diana was exposed to.



Danny is being treated by Birkoff while Shawn watches. Shawn tells Danny to rest and he and Birkoff talk about what to do. They think they need to bring Danny to NTAC so they can study him and find an antidote.



Meghan and Diana watch TV. The virus has affected city hall. People are abandoning their posts throughout the city. Meghan says she thinks they need to take Kyle up on his offer. The TV shows footage of rioting. Meghan says she's going to Promise City, she tells Diana she needs to go to the 4400 Center to find out why she's immune to the Promicin. Tom comes in, he just found out about Susan. He asks for his gun because he remembers everything. He wants to pretend he is still marked and rescue Jordan.



Meghan talks to Kyle accepting his assistance to restore order using Promise City members as temporary security. Meghan wants a list of those with abilities so they can determine where to send them. Kyle tells her Jordan already has it all planned out and they know exactly how to take over the city.



Parrish is on the phone talking about a war against the positives. Isabelle walks in. They talk about Kyle taking Jordan's place and keeping the movement together. She tells Isabelle she needs to go kill Kyle. Isabelle leaves as Tom walks in. Tom tells Parrish about the virus in NTAC. Parrish tells Tom she sent Isabelle to kill Kyle. Tom hesitates then says, "Good."



Birkoff tells Diana that her body produces too much ubiquinone, an immune system booster. That made her Promicin resistant. They don't have time to mass produce it but that's okay because it's already readily available as a supplement. Joanna comes to tell Shawn his brother is not looking good. Birkoff and Shawn leave as Diana starts making phone calls about the pills.



Danny isn't contagious anymore but he's still producing Promicin and with no outlet, its building in his system. The only choice is to take him off the inhibitor and make him infectious again or dying.



Tom enters the room Jordan is in with a knife. He cuts Jordan loose telling him he can get rid of the Marked and to leave no matter what happens. He also tells Jordan to tell Kyle about Isabelle. They get busted by Parrish's bodyguards walking down the hall. Parrish knew Tom wasn't Marked anymore because he flinched about Kyle.



Kyle and Meghan are discussing dispersion of the supplement. People start screaming and the lights flicker. Isabelle walks in. Knocks Meghan out. Isabelle tells Kyle to close his eyes, but he says if she's going to do it she has to look at him. She grabs his head and he falls down and starts yelling. She stops. They talk. They kiss. She says goodbye and leaves.



Shawn and Diana hold a press conference about the ubiquinone. After, Diana thanks Shawn.



Shawn is at Danny's bedside. Danny is sweating badly and tells Shawn it hurts to breathe. Shawn is about to help him when Danny stops him. Danny asks Shawn to make it stop hurting (to kill him). Finally, crying, Shawn does what his brother asked. Danny dies.



Isabelle arrives at the Parrish place. She takes out the two guards at the door and then telekinetically throws one throw a window and knocks the other out. One shoots her several times before she impales him with a poker. Parrish appears yelling at Isabelle. As Isabelle uses her powers to kill Parrish, Parrish activates the kill switch. Tom and Jordan are tied to chairs and can hear what's going on. Footsteps in the hall and the door opens. Isabelle staggers in and unties the two men before collapsing. Isabelle dies.



Tom and Jordan walk outside. Tom tells Jordan to mend fences with Shawn to rid himself of the Marked. He also gives Jordan a list of the rest of the Marked; they are too powerful for NTAC to take down. Tom wonders who is in charge of the city, "My side or yours?" Jordan answers, "I think soon, that distinction won't mean a thing." Jordan walks away.



EIGHT DAYS LATER



Susan and Danny's funeral. 4400 and NTAC attend side-by-side. After the service, Shawn stands at the grave and Kyle comes to him. They hug. Tom joins them and talks to Kyle and then to Shawn. Tom tells Shawn he is not alone. Three-way hug.



Meghan tells Diana they have at least 9.000 people confirmed dead. They talk about all the people who will have abilities, including those in NTAC. Seattle is still on its own for at least a week due to the ongoing quarantine. Jordan Collier is effectively in charge of the city. Diana wonders what will happen after.



People are mobbed up outside City Hall to see Jordan.



Shawn is looking at a USAWeekly with Jordan on the front and the headline "Can Jordan Collier be Stopped?"



Jordan makes a speech. He says the sacrifices have not been in vein and those who died are the heralds of a new age. He says the movement now claims all Seattle as its home.



Meghan is at her desk writing a report. She turns her pen into a calla lily.



Garrity is bent over looking through a folder. He looks up to see a mirror image of himself reading a folder.



Marco is looking at pictures of Promise City at NTAC. He looks up to find he has been transported to Promise City.



Jordan is still making a speech. Maia watches with Diana. Maia tells Diana that she was right and Jordan was a good guy. Diana says Jordan Collier being dictator of Seattle is not good. Maia tells Diana that she's wrong, "We're in charge now. It's better that way."



Jordan proclaims they will see heaven on earth in their lifetime. Jordan and Kyle hug.



Tom is looking at newspaper clippings and pictures when Kyle walks in. Kyle sits down and tells Tom there is a way to live what he did. Tom asks how. Kyle puts a syringe of Promicin on the coffee table and tells Tom it's time.



Last scene is the Welcome to Seattle sign which has been spray painted over to say Welcome to Promise city.
