Mr. T puts away gold

Mr. T pities the folks who suffered through Hurricane Katrina, and he's removed his jewelry to prove it.

The former A-Team star, whose real name is Laurence Tureaud, has decided to eschew his normal gold necklaces and adornments after returning from the Gulf Coast and seeing how the victims of last year's hurricane were still suffering. Mr. T to Pity the Fool on TV Land

Former A-Team star Mr. T has signed a deal with TV Land to appear in I Pity the Fool, a reality pilot produced by Lions Gate Television, the network said yesterday.

Mr. T will blend anecdotes from his own life--perhaps touching on his impoverished childhood and his battle with T-cell lymphoma--with self-improvement concepts such as "teamwork" and "determination" as he becomes what the network calls a "catalyst for change."

TV Land executive Sal Maniaci stated, "We are very ...

"In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.
