    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • As the A-Team is preparing to break into Gaines' warehouse, Hannibal spots the patrol car and says, "Okay, we've got a minute and 31 seconds before he comes back again."

It actually takes 2 minutes and 17 seconds of screen time from that point until the van is completely concealed within the warehouse as the patrol car drives by again.

      • Murdock's Shirt: says "Dinky Donkey" and has a cartoon donkey on it.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Amanda: Frank Gaines can raise a small army.
Hannibal: What we lack in numbers, Miss Houston, we make up in quality.

      • Murdock: I wouldn't fool with him [Hannibal] if I was you. Not too many people know it, but this here's the guy who killed Cock Robin. Shot him in the gut, so that he'd die slow and with a lot of pain.

      • Amanda: Why do you do it? Surely you'd be better off going your own separate ways, changing your identities, and starting new lives in different places.
Face: Well, we do it for the same reason you haven't run away, you and Jamie and the others. You're a team, a lot like we are. You know, when we're apart we're just a bunch of social misfits. But when we're together, well, that's something very special. Only our goals are a little different; you're trying to turn your dream into reality and we're just, we're just trying to survive.

      • Amy: Hannibal's plans are absolutely consistent - they never look like they're gonna work, but they always do, sort of.

      • (to Frank Gaines, leader of the bad guys)
Hannibal: We're here to discuss an intelligent business transaction. Do you think you could manage something intelligent?

      • Gaines: What are you - fugitives from the banana bin?
        Murdock: How'd he know?

      • Murdock: I'll bet you can't wait to meet this guy, huh, Hannibal? The wee dudes are looking forward to it, too. Aren't ya, fellas?
B.A.: What wee dudes? You been greasin' your hair with battery acid again, Murdock?

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (5)

      • Murdock: The Clanton's are comin', Wyatt!

Murdock is referencing the 1881 shootout in Tombstone, Arizona, between the Earps (Wyatt, Morgan, and Virgil) and the Clantons. Often referred to as the "Gunfight at the OK Corral," the fight also included Doc Holliday, Frank and Tom McLaury, and Billy Claiborne.

      • Face: Now, if you can deal with that, then you're a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

Face quotes the last line of Rudyard Kipling's 1892 poem, "Gunga Din."

      • Murdock: That's Richard Widmark, Kiss of Death, Fox, '47.

Richard Widmark won a Golden Globe for "Most Promising Newcomer - Male" for his performance in this film-noir movie.

      • Murdock: Oh, I heard that line before. That's Randolph Scott, last reel, Belle of the Yukon, International Pictures, 1944.

Belle of the Yukon was a musical Western starring not only Randolph Scott, but also Gypsy Rose Lee and Dinah Shore.

      • The title is taken from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge:

        Water, water, every where,
        Nor any drop to drink.
