    • George Arliss, who won the Best Actor prize for his performance in Disraeli had played the role before in a silent version in 1921. This makes him the only actor to win an Oscar for repeating his performance in a remake.

    • This is the last time that the top award would be called "Best Production". The following year it was changed to "Best Picture"

    • George Arliss, Ronald Coleman, Maurice Chevalier, Greta Garbo and Norma Shearer were all double nominees. Arliss was nominated for Disraeli and The Green Goddess. Coleman was nominated for Bulldog Drummond and Condemned. Chevalier was nominated for The Love Parade and The Big Pond. Garbo was nominated for Anne Christie and Romance. Norma Shearer was nominated for Their Own Desire and The Divorcee. This is the first and only time where multiple nominations would be permitted for individual categories.
