Goof: Wednesday's skin is briefly seen as pale on two occasions during this episode while dressed as her mother. First, when the kids discover Uncle Fester is the fake Puttergeist, and second, when Pugsley puts her back in the golf cart when they're being chased by the real one.
N.J.: Come on, you guys. Maybe we'll see the Puttergeist.
Pugsley: The Puttergeist?
Wednesday: Surely you believe not in that story friend N.J.
Norm: I'm afraid she's right, son. Aren't you a little too old for that?
Pugsley: Aren't you the one who believes in the underelves?
Norm: Hey, that's different! Their secret dance around your bed marks the beginning of the elastic festival, you little...boy!
The title of this episode parodies the 1982 movie Poltergeist, which was written by Stephen Spielberg, directed by Tobe Hooper, and starred Craig T. Nelson and the late Heather O'Rourke.
