Okay, yesterday, I saw the episode 'Green-eyed Gomez' and when Gomez was talking to Morticia about Fester and Lurch's attempts to kill him, he said "Somebody down there loves me." Does this mean that the Addams are Satan worshippers?

    From "Gomez, the Politician":
Gomez: Does the 'L' stand for Lucifer?

From "The Addams Family Meets a Beatnik":
    Rocky: Satan's coming to dinner.
    Wednesday: That was last week.

    From "Halloween-Addams Style":
Morticia (during the séance): ...Flame of Satan...

It's possible. My guess, however, is that the writers just wanted things that seemed weird or dark and the satanic references fit in. They were nice and they did celebrate Christmas.

I think the writers wanted to go against the norm so they used Satan and anything dark because it isn't accepted in society. This way they stood out.

I agree with you guys. I think they were just trying to make them seem dark and unusual. They weren't Satan worshippers. They celebrate Christmas just like everyone else.

of caurse they are and the people who made this tv show. any reply who says not is just naive, yes they wanted to add a sense of weirdness and darkness because that's in the heart of most hollywoodians.

They are not Satan worshipers. They are just...as the theme song says...creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky, and all-together ooky, which means that sure, they are uniquely different and sure, they might like things that "normal society" might find disturbing, but then again, since when is anything "normal"? This is because "normal"-ness and "weird"-ness is a matter of preferred taste and perspective.
