Don't you love how they take things from classic TV and change them just enough to make them different. For example, Mr Steed and Emma Peel (Mrs. Peel) from the famous British spy program taken together for the British character Emma Steed.

Brisco assignment is to take the spy to the border to exchange with another spy the US wants back. Brisco becomes concerned when he realizes they will probably kill her once the exchange has been made. I guess she has done some bad things to the Spanish government.

After they leave on a stage bound for Mexicali, Bowler and Socrates find out that it was setup by a traitor in the State Department who'since been caught. So off Bowler and Socrates ride to chase down the Stagecoach that Brisco and Emma are in. To compound the problem an assassin has been hired to kill Ms. Steed and Pete Hutter of the don't touch my gun Hutter's is after her as well figuring she must be worth lots of money to ransom.

So eventually Brisco must figure out a way to stop all the bad guys and save the girl. Another entertaining episode with a little romance thrown in as well. A fun story with some little twists, but just no to the level it could have been. You wonder if they had started to believe the series was going to end at this point. Thanks for reading...moreless

This is a pretty good episode of the series.

It starts out with Brisco and co. being snatched and coerced into working for the Government on an assignment. Although this initially seems interesting, I couldn't really work out why there was so much 'cloak and dagger' to it, especially seeing as Socrates now works for the Government anyway; on hindsight, it did rather seem like story padding.

Straight away I got the reference in the British spy's name – Emma Steed, a mixture of John Steed and Emma Peel in the classic 1960s British series 'The Avengers' (of which I am a huge fan).

Once on the stagecoach, filled with several questionable characters, we – and Brisco – try to work out who the would-be assassin is; and several red herrings are given. I enjoyed this, but didn't find it as good as the hunt for the murderer in the excellent 'Bounty Hunter's Convention' a few episodes previously.

Without giving it away, the twist at the end of the story is a good one, and rounds the episode of nicely.

All-in-all, it doesn't quite make it to being one of my all-time favourites of the series, but it is a reasonable story never-the-less.moreless
