The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

Season 3 Episode 8

Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen

Aired Weekdays 7:30 PM Nov 18, 2005 on Nickelodeon

  • Trivia

    • When Jimmy and Carl are throwing things at Sheen in the lab, Jimmy throws a piece of wood and Carl throws a cinder block. When the view is switched to facing Sheen, we don't see a cinder block being thrown at him until later on.

    • At the beginning of the Sheen/Yoo-yee fight, Yoo-yee walks across the center of the cross like fighting ring. But a couple shots later, neither of them moved, and they are standing in the center of the arena.

    • This is a continuation from Operation: Jet Fusion because Sheen knew that the world would one day value his "unique" ability.

    • Bloopers in the Blooper Reel at the End:
      - Sheen's Leg popping out
      - Jimmy actually having a wig
      - Yoo Yee flying crazy
      - Cindy falling from the sky, landing behind Jimmy
      - Sheen getting hit by a door

    • First appearances of Bolbi's sister and Yoo-Yee.

    • Bolbi's "Slap Slap Slap, Clap Clap Clap" dance is revealed to be called "Salute-du-Slap Dancing."

    • When Jimmy puts in the Kung-Fu disk before the fight, but it doesn't work, the screen on the dance machine reads "Kung-Fu." So when Carl gave him the dance disk, wouldn't he have seen it was the wrong one.

    • When Carl said the cracking noise was his scapula he pointed to his back, but your scapula is your shoulder blade.

  • Quotes

    • Sheen: Jimmy, you have to help me! The only respectable dance I know is The Crazy Porpoise!

    • Carl: How many fingers am I holding up?
      Sheen: November?

    • Master Hong: To float, you must have the eye of the tiger.
Carl: Eye of the tiger? Seems fattening.

    • Jimmy: It's shangri Llama alright and it's crawling with ninjas... (Jimmy, Carl and Sheen see ninjas crawling all over Shangri Llama)

    • Sheen: It's Shangri-Llama alright.
Monks: Chanting in unison, chanting in unison, chanting in unison...

    • Jimmy: Do you have any villians with access to ninjas?
Sheen: No, but I have a half-cousin with access to the internet.

    • Miss Fowl: Jimmy, I don't have you on my list of dancers.
Jimmy: Oh! I'm not in the show, Miss Fowl, but it's very important that I--
Miss Fowl: (interupts - shakes her head) Ah-ah-ah! No butts, unless you're shaking yours (wiggles her butt) tonight!

    • Yoo Yee: Prepare to meet your fate, Chosen One!
Sheen: What? No "How was your flight, Chosen One?" "What hotel are you staying at, Chosen One?"

    • Master Hong: Put your leg behind your head!
Sheen: (tries to do it, and accidently pulls out his leg) That'll hurt in the morning! (laughs) Moving on!!

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Master Hong: Character

Master Hong could have been a spof of 'Master Fung' from Xiaolin Showdown

    • Master Hong: You lack the eye of the tiger

When Master Hong says "eye of the tiger", it is an obvious spoof of the Rocky movies where Balboa has the insigna and saying of the tiger.

    • Music: "Kill Bill Vol. 1&2"

When Sheen find his "Eye of The Tiger" the background music is similar to that of the movie "Kill Bill Vol. 1&2"

    • Music: "Everybody Was Kung-Fu Fighting"

When Sheen is training with Master Hong, in the background you will hear the tune of the popular song "Everybody Want's Kung-fu Fighting" in the background.

    • Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen: Plot

This episode is a lot like a mixture of the Kim Possible episodes "Exchange" and "Gorilla Fist".

    • Yoo Yee: Appearance

The kung-fu master, Yoo Yee, that Sheen fights kind of resembles Ulrich Stern on Code Lyoko.

    • Sheen and Yoo Yee: (banter)

Some of the banter between Sheen and Yoo Yee in this episode is a direct spoof of some of the dialogue in Steve Oedekerk's (producer of the JN movie) Kung Pow: Enter the Fist.

    • Yoo Yee: (fighting)

Some Yoo Yee's moves are taken from Ken, Ryu, and Chun-li, who are characters from the Street Fighters series.

    • Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen: Title

The title is taken from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
