What I liked (Granny Baby)- the idea of Jimmy turning his grandma into a baby, Granny Baby hitting Cindy with her cradle (That used to make me laugh really hard as a kid), Granny acting funny at the end of the episode.

What I liked (Time is Money)- the alternate world was kind of nice, and Jimmy deciding he did not need the encyclopedias in the end.

Good-ish episodes. Granny Baby is pretty good but Time is Money is kind of boring.moreless
  • Not original, but who cares? It\'s Jimmy!

    8.8
So the storyline wasn\'t the most original idea ever...but it was still funny. Grandma Neutron and the hair which ran down to her foot was kind of freaky though. Her story about the ear wax shop was really funny. The second episode was OK, except nothing really happened because it was too short. Like many of the 11 minute episodes, I don\'t think that it was exploited to its full potential. Either one of the two episodes could have been expanded to a full 22 minute one and would have made it better. Then again, we can\'t have everything we want...since Nick is cancelling the show...moreless
  • But it's Neutron for cryin out loud!

It is not the best episode, but it's not the worst either. When I watched it the first time,I thought it was great. But after the second and third season,it seemed unoriginal.I say average, but because it's my second favorite show,I give it a ten.I'm saying this early, but all loyal Neutron fans, this is one of those "YAWN" episodes when you get down to it!I think that both episodes are boring and dull. They both have NO action, and try to be to funny,It's Horribible!Don't worry, that's a Winnie the Pooh quote. All in all,I expected more,of course it's only the first season, the real magic came in the second and third seasons.

    One dull 10

These episodes are just plain boring, in Granny Baby, Jimmy turns his Grandma into a baby and he and Cindy have to find the antidote before Jimmy's parents come home. In Time is Money, Jimmy just goes back into time to convince his dad to invest in McSpanky's so he can be rich just have some dumb encyclopedia set. Jimmy sets everything back to normal becuase his parents don't spend time with him anymore. At first when these episodes premiered, they were okay, but now, they're just sorry due to them being shown way too much. These episodes are a big disappointment.moreless
  • a funny episode

Jimmy accentally turns his Granny into a baby, when an expirment went wrong he was only trying to make his granny younger, he inlisted Cindy to help him get the ingredients to the antidote, to change his granny back, in the end he succeed, but after Carl mistaking it for Lemonade became old as well, and he and Jimmy's Granny dancied... very badly.

good episode, I like the way it ended.

Jimmy wants the 1,000 set encyclopedia of infinite knowledge, but his parent's can't afford it, and after learing that his family could have been rich, if his Dad would have invested in McSpanky's Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen travel back in time to convince Hugh of investing, Hugh took his advice and Jimmy became rich he even had his encyclopedia set, but money changed his parents, so Jimmy goes back in time and fixes the problem, making everything as it should be.

A great episode with Jimmy learning a powerful lession.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • The maid Hilgo in "Time is Money" is also the lunch lady at Jimmy's school.

    • When Jimmy's Grandma stops the cab, she says "I told you I could get here in under 50 cents". This would have been impossible because the cab fair starts at $2.

    • When Jimmy held the doll behind Granny's back and pulled the string to make it look as if she was a toy, wouldn't the doll have talked when he pulled the string?

    • When Hugh says in the past "Marriage is for the older scene", why would he not invest? If he was going to wait until he was older (e.g. a few years), then why not invest and buy the ring later, when that was what he was buying (revealed in the 2nd present scene)?

    • When Jimmy, Sheen and Carl travel 15 years onto the past, why do the Neutrons live in the same house? Didn't Jimmy move when he was 7 years old? Actually, Keith Alcorn said this was a major continuity flaw - the people of DNA couldn't create a new whole house for one episode.

    • When Jimmy goes up to Cindy and Libby's yard sale, you can see the Neutrons' blue car - the same one that Hugh and Judy drove away in - parked in the driveway behind him.

    • When Jimmy, Carl and Sheen go 15 years back in time, it would have been around late in the year 1987, but Hugh is in a disco suit with an Afro trademark of the 1970s and Judy is wearing hippie attire trademark of the 1960s.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • (after Goddard shows him the option to call Judy)
Jimmy: I love and respect Mom far too much to let her know I... disobeyed her.

    • Cindy: Anything else you'd like? Your slippers and a pipe maybe?

    • Jimmy: In a short 65 years, you completely lose the ability to tell when someone wants you to stop talking.

    • Jimmy: Well, what do you guys wanna watch?
      Sheen: UltraLord!
Carl: Yeah, I'm pretty much good with anything that's not this....

    • Judy: Hilgo, could you take Jimmy to his room? He's being all son-ish again.

    • Judy: And what're they doing here? The big one is odd, and the thin one is a weirdo.
Carl: Hey, you can't insult us like that!
Hugh: (tosses Carl and Sheen a gold brick) Here you go, get yourself something nice.
Sheen: Sure they can! (turns to Carl) Let's go, oddguy!
Carl: (snorts) You got it, weirdo!

    • Jimmy: We're ready for the maiden voyage.
      Carl and Sheen: Maiden voyage?
Sheen: You're bringing a girl with us?!

    • Cindy: (annoyed) What are you doing here?
      Jimmy: (nervously) Fine, thank you.

    • Sheen: I liked the part about the medulla oblongata. I don't know what it means, but I love the way it sounds! (waves an UltraLord action figure at Carl) Back! Or I shall slay thee with my medulla oblongata!

    • Hugh: Fifteen years ago, I picked up a scruffy-looking McSpanky on the side of the road, didn't have a penny to his name, told me all about this grand scheme he had to assembly-line hard, little, tasteless burger patties to the masses, disguising them with inexpensive condiments and yummy buns.

    • Cindy: Do I look like the kind of pathetic, self-deluded dweebcase who would have any UltraLord anything?
Sheen: No. You look like a regular kind of pathetic, self-deluded dweebcase. (laughs, high fives Carl)

    • Granny Neutron: And forget Preperation H, I've gotten all the way to Preperation X!

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (9)

    • Granny Baby: In the beginning of the episode, when Jimmy is in his lab, the sounds of the bridge from the original Star Trek series can be heard.

    • Time Is Money: Plot

"Time Is Money" is similar to The Fairly OddParents episode "Father Time".

    • Judy's Cell Phone: Sound

When Jimmy's mom calls Jimmy on her cell phone, you can hear the "KICK" sound of Nokia 3320/60, 2220/60.

    • McSpanky's: Name

McSpanky's is a spoof of the fast food company McDonald's.

    • Cindy: Libby, you run the yard sale while Dr. Spock and I go to the shop.

Cindy sarcastically calling Jimmy "Dr. Spock" is a reference to the famous childcare expert Dr. Benjamin Spock.

    • Jimmy: Oh, yeah, and when you're older and have a son, be sure to buy him the 1,000 volume set of the Encyclopedia of Infinite Knowledge!

In Back to the Future, Marty McFly tells his parents (in the past), "If you ever have kids, and one of them, when he's eight years old, accidentally sets fire to the living room rug, go easy on him." Jimmy telling past Hugh to buy him the encyclopedia set is a reference to that line.

    • Granny Baby: 'Cause if we could [talk], the VideoTubbies'd be cancelled so fast, it'd make their head aerials spin!

VideoTubbies is a spoof of Teletubbies.

    • Carl: Klaatu barada nicto.

Carl is quoting Patricia Neal's character from the classic science fiction movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still, who was talking in a robot's language.

    • Libby: We're a dollar and twenty-three cents away from just enough to split an enchiluparido at Taco Horn!

Taco Horn is based on Taco Bell. An "enchiluparido" sounds like a combination of an enchilada, a chalupa, and a burrito.
