If you listen closely, at the beginning of "Hypno-Birthday To You", during the title card, you hear the Beatles "Birthday" playing.
In "Hall Monster," the length of Cindy's pants is 11 3/4 inches. That is about a foot. Considering that Cindy's lower body is about the size of her upper body, that means that Cindy is about 2 feet tall.
Jimmy is 10 years old according to the number of "next day" scene changers there were.
We see the inside of Carl's room. His frog drawing from the movie is hanging on one of his walls. He also, not that surprisingly, has a dorm fridge in his room.
Jimmy says in this episode that his birthday was 3 months away. Since his birthday is March 14 then this episode would take place in December. Why didn't he just wait until Christmas to get his gift?
In this episode, Carl runs out of gift ideas and brings Jimmy a bag of meat instead. But in "The Mighty Wheezers" Carls parents say that they cannot eat meat.
Carl's "I Am Going To" Hall Pass has the Cafeteria checkbox checked, not Bathroom. Also, at the top, it states the name of the school as "Lindburgh" instead of the correct spelling, "Lindbergh."
At the beginning of "Hypno-Birthday to You," Carl's bedroom door is open. A few seconds later, Jimmy pushes that same door open. How did it close?
The Neutron's address is 3210, not 1234, which is what it said on the clown's bill. Also, on the bill, it said Jimmy's phone number was 555-3184, but in "A Beautiful Mine," it said his phone number was 555-1546.
Cindy: (about Jimmy) I think your friend's hat is on a little too tight.
Sheen: His hats are always too tight. Look at his head!
Jimmy: Did you say today's my birthday?
Jimmy: Gentlemen, I present the Monday Morning Forgotten Report Delivery System! Better known as mans best friend...Goddard! Thanks boy.
Jimmy: You've exceeded the number of llama stickers on your lunchbox!
Carl: (nervously) I know...but I, I have a special permit.
Chuck: Hey, Neutron! You know the rules! No dogs at school! That's a demerit! And where's your hall pass?
Jimmy: I don't need one, Chuck. I'm not in the hall, and class hasn't started yet.
(Chuck blocks their entrance, causing them to protest, especially when the bell rings)
Chuck: Now you need a pass! That's a demerit! And you're late to class! Another demerit! (moves out of their way to let them through) Have a nice day....
(Jimmy, Sheen, and Carl walk through the doorway grumbling)
Jimmy: Are you conducting a secret meeting? Is this a conspiracy to start a riot?! Up against the wall, spread 'em!
Cindy: Okay, Neutron, you're outta control! I'm making a citizen's arrest!
Sheen: I want a public defender!
Libby: I-I want my music!
Carl: (whining) I want my mommy! (whimpers, then brightens) And some fudge!
Libby: Uh oh! (gasps) Music withdrawl! (shrieks) Skin ... feeling ... clammy! (faints)
Jimmy: I assume it comes with a few cc's of ethel mercaptain?
Carl: Uh ... no.
Jimmy: Well, I can work around that. How about some dimercural sulphonitive?
Carl: Yea--no.
Jimmy: Tritium nitrate?
Carl: I got salt.
Jimmy: Aw, pukin' Pluto! How's a guy supposed to create a four-dimensional hypercube without access to the complete spectrum of inorganic chemicals?!
Sheen: Welcome to my nightmare.
Jimmy: Ah, I wish I could invent something that would chew up three months of my life.
Sheen: Summer school. Trust me.
Hugh: Don't burn down the house, son! Buh-bye!
This episode is in the Cine-Manga book Tinkering with Destiny.
This episode can be seen on the DVD Sea of Trouble.
The character model for the hall monitor, Chuck Lestor, would later be used for the character Eustace Strych in "Billion Dollar Boy."
Hall Monster
When Mrs Fowl was calling who was going to be the hall monitor. She yelled Carl. Carl jumped up happily thinking he was hall monitor. Then Mrs Fowl said he forgot something then she announced the hall monitor was Jimmy(beginning) then Sheen(end). This is sorta like what happened in an episode of That's So Raven "I only had a job" Where Senorita Rodriguez calls out the name of the role for Dorothy in a play. She says Raven and Raven jumps up happily thinking she has the role. Then Senorita Rodriguez said "oh i thought you were here why did i mark you absent?" and the role was given to another girl.
Carl's Lunchbox Stickers: Appearance
One of Carl's stickers on his lunchbox looks a little like the Pokémon character Jigglypuff.
Hall Monster: Hall Moniter
This episode is a lot like the Hey Arnold! episode "Hall Moniter" where Phoebe becomes entranced with the power of being a hall moniter, is given the nickname "Field Marshell Phoebe", and causes everyone to go against her. It even includes a slightly similar detention scene.
Title: Hypno-Birthday to You
A spoof on the title of the popular song "Happy Birthday To You".
Jimmy: Lady, we don't sing the blues here.
Possibly a reference to "Lady Sings the Blues", which is also a reference to a future Jimmy Neutron episode "Lady Sings the News."
