Carl: Hey! Why'd Nick just leave the Candy Bar?
Cindy: (dreamily) Who's Nick?
Hugh: (encouraging Jimmy)You're gonna be a star! (in an attempt to close the door, his huge nose gets squashed)
"Cool" Hugh: (singing - points at Nick) This kid's cool, and (points at Carl) this kid's not. But I'm cool, cool, cool, cool as can be....
Carl: He sang to me! (faints)
Jimmy: Of all the dads in the world, I had to get mine.
Jimmy: I've got to change my dad back, and soon!
Sheen: I smell a brain blast!
Carl: Oh, is that what that is? I thought it was the cheese ball in my pocket I've been keeping since I was three. (takes moldy old cheeseball out of his pocket and strokes it affectionatly) I call him Cheesy.
(after Hugh embarrasses Jimmy singing)
Cindy: If that was my father, I'd change my name, dye my hair, get plastic surgery, and move to another town!
Libby: Or country!
Cindy: Or continent!
Libby: Or planet!
Cindy: Or solar system!
Libby: Or ... uh, let's just laugh at him now.
Sheen: Maybe it's a code! Or a trap! Or Jimmy could be an evil robot! Or it could be all a dream!!
This episode doesn't only appear on Father's Day.
The first appearance of Corky Shimatzu
Cool Hugh: Personality
Cool Hugh's personality is sort of a combination of Billy Joel, John Travolta, Elvis Presley, and Elton John. Interestingly, Cool Hugh's song "Cool As Can Be" has the same beat as Elton John's hit song, the "Crocodile Rock".
Music: Hugh's Songs
The two songs Hugh sings are called "Cool As Can Be" (when Hugh is "cool") and "The Ducky Daddles Dance Song" (at the Father's Day Follies).
Cool Hugh: Switchblade Comb
When Cool Hugh first walks into the Candy Bar, he pulls out a switchblade comb. That, and his jacket, parody an episode of Happy Days where the Fonz got into some trouble for having a switchblade handle that flipped out into a comb. (Carl may be referring to this when he says he's "seen this movie.")
Title: "Make Room For Daddy-O"
The title is from the late '50s/early '60s TV show Make Room for Daddy, starring Danny Thomas.
Sheen: I won't mess up, or my name isn't Sheen Juarerra Estevez!
Martin Sheen's real last name is Estevez - this could be why it's Sheen's last name.
