This episode begins with a fight between Jimmy and Cindy (hmm, sound familiar?) Jimmy is convinced that the equator is invisible, while Cindy argues that there are certain places that you can see the equator. To settle the dispute, Jimmy and the gang sneak out of school and use the hovercar to fly far out into the middle of the Pacific Ocean. After yet another argument, Cindy and Jimmy accidentally fall from the hovercar and land in the Pacific Ocean. Sheen, Carl, and Libby try to help them, but the hovercar is stuck on autopilot and they fly off in the opposite direction, leaving Cindy and Jimmy alone. The soaked and miserable pair washes up on a deserted island, where it dawns on them that they may never be rescued. At first, Jimmy and Cindy make every effort to make each other miserable, but as time goes by it becomes obvious that that they really like each other. Cindy saves Jimmy from a giant Venus fly trap, and he saves her life after she gets caught in to the coils of a boa constrictor. This gives them a newfound respect and understanding of each other, and they tell each other things that they never would have talked about before. Cindy tells Jimmy that being away from school and peer pressure has made her realize how ridiculous their constant fighting really is. She also tells him that she thinks he's a really cool person, and it turns out that he's been thinking the same thing. The two of them decide to go on a "date" and they spend the day doing all sorts of fun activities. After their date, Jimmy gives Cindy a pearl that he found, and they both agree that this was the best day they've ever had. They sit on the beach together and hold hands while they watch the sunset. Meanwhile, back with Sheen, Carl, and Libby, things aren't going so well. Sheen breaks the hovercar while trying to disable the autopilot, and they end up crashing into the Pacific Ocean. They all argue about "who's going to eat who" and basically just float around aimlessly. They almost get rescued when a cruiseliner shows up, but their attempt to launch a flare goes awry and they accidentally torpedo the cruise ship instead. Soon afterward, Sheen becomes convinced that everything is really a mirage, and begins addressing his friends as "Mirage Carl," and so forth. Eventually the current brings them to the island where Cindy and Jimmy are stranded, and they wash up on the beach. When they see their long lost friends, they all run and hug each other, and then Jimmy announces that he will have the hovercar fixed in no time. He sends everybody out to gather the necessary materials. While gathering, Libby finds a tree with "J+C 4ever" carved on it in the shape of a heart, and she confronts Cindy. Cindy, if course, denies that anything has happened between her and Jimmy, but Libby's not convinced. After everybody returns with the needed materials, a giant spider attacks. It turns out that Sheen accidentally got spider eggs instead of the rocks he was supposed to find. Sheen, still under the impression that everything is a mirage, volunteers to distract the spider while everyone makes a getaway. Cindy, however, doesn't want to go, and begs Jimmy to stay there with her. He can't decide what to do at first, but has to make the difficult decision to go back home. The story ends with Sheen, Libby, and Carl at the Candy Bar, watching as Cindy and Jimmy argue in a nearby booth. Although things may appear to be back to normal, there is obviously something different between Cindy and Jimmy from then on.
