Episode Summary

EDIT
The first part of the show is a faithful retelling of Holmes and Watson's meeting as in "A Study in Scarlet" until Holmes invites the good doctor to their first murder investigation. Lastrade has it all wrong, of course, picking the most likely suspect, Peter Cunningham's secret bride, a "jailbird".moreless

  • Holmes & Watson's first case....

    8.0
.... "The Case of the Cunningham Heritage" is a very fun and entertaining beginning to this mid-50s Sherlock Holmes series. Taking a bit from Arthur Conan Doyle's first Sherlock Holmes adventure, "A Study In Scarlet," "The Case of the Cunningham Heritage" sees Holmes and Watson's introduction to one and other as well as their first case together. As Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, respectively, Ronald Howard and H. Marion Crawford prove convincing and fun to watch in their roles right out of the gate as they solve the peculiar murder of Peter Cunningham.

This series is remembered for its more comedic take on the world that Doyle created while also serving up engaging mysteries - the first episode, "The Case of the Cunningham Heritage," is a great example of what made this series so fun to watch.moreless
