A saucer descends down towards Earth and lands in the desert. The news of its landing reaches the Pentagon, which sends a large armed contingent to surround the craft, and is heard by Clark at the Kent store. Fearing that the confrontation could lead to weapon exchange, Clark changes into Superboy and flies off to Washington with Krypto heading to the desert to keep an eye on things.
Arriving in Washington, Superboy convinces Pentagon leaders to give him an hour to put a plan by Superboy to resolve the matter peacefully. Shortly thereafter, a radio message is broadcast stating military operations against the saucer have been halted temporarily.
Arriving at the desert with Krypto, Superboy sees that alien creatures have emerged from the saucer. The aliens ask Superboy and Krypto how they can fly and Superboy fibs that all Earthlings can fly. Superboy offers to shake hands and nearly crushes the alien's hands, with an alien surmising that all Earthlings must be this strong.
As one alien explains to Superboy that they are an advance scout ship for their people who intend to declare war on Earth, another alien sneaks up on Superboy and attempts to knock him out. Krypto foils the attack and the aliens try firing a disintegration ray in Superboy's direction but the ray has no effect.
Superboy picks up the alien's saucer, lifts it into the sky and plays with Krypto with it. Shortly thereafter, the aliens leave the Earth in their saucer convinced Earth is too difficult to conquer. Afterwards, Superboy receives congratulations from Pentagon leaders on his successful ruse.
