    • Trivia

      ADD TRIVIA
      • Metallo was introduced in the comic book story "The Menace of Metallo!", Action No. 252. May 1959. Edit
      • When Superboy confronts Metallo at the ceremony, he doesn't feel the effects of the Kryptonite until after their dialogue. It's very strange that the Kryptonite would wait until they were through talking to finally weaken him. Edit
      • The professor who turns Corben into Metallo says that Corben's heart was destroyed. Therefore he has to power his new robotic body with kryptonite. But after Superboy removes Metallo's kryptonite power source, he says "Your heart will hold you until help arrives." Well, was his heart destroyed or not? Edit
    • Notes

      ADD NOTES
      • This is the first episode in which kryptonite is directly referred to as "kryptonite" by the characters. Clark reads a journal kept by Professor Peterson which explains the substance was a piece of the dead planet Krypton. Therefore, Peterson gave the rock the name kryptonite. Edit
      • There is a great bit of continuity here between the first and second seasons. The professor who created Metallo says that he found the kryptonite on a trip to the sewer. In the first season ep "Kryptonite Kills" Luthor lost a chunk of kryptonite by dropping it down a sewer drain. Obviously, the prof. found that chunk. Edit

      • (Metallo crashes Superboy's appreciation ceremony) Superboy: Corbin! Metallo: That two-bit punk, Corbin is dead. You can call me, Metallo. Superboy: I don't care what you call yourself, you're a murderer and I'm taking you in! Metallo: Well, take your best shot, pal! Superboy: I always do! [The kryptonite begins to weaken Superboy] Metallo: What is this, some kind of joke? Ah, you're really hurtin' there, aren't you, pal? This rock, it must be this green rock inside my chest. [Superboy stumbles to his feet and runs away] Metallo: Oh, don't run, Superboy! After these great people went through all this trouble to throw this bash for you? You can run, Superboy, but you can't hide! Edit
