The Little Prince meets a boy named Randy who tries to avoid him and is very curt with him. He befriends him after he saves him from a terrible fall over a cliff. Randy tells him he wants to get rich soon by collecting gold. He says he overheard his aunt and uncle saying a pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow. They wait until the rain ends and go chasing the rainbow.
They are followed by two claimjumpers who provide them with a lot of trouble. There are several action scenes, including one on a cliffside and one on a rope bridge.
They eventually befriend the claimjumpers and they work together. They discover a waterfall with two rainbows. One claimjumper realizes that they have been chasing a fairytale, but they can start a sawmill with the power of the waterfall, so the trip wasn't a total loss at all.
I liked the story and thought it had a great moral. In whatever path you take, you work with what where the path leads.
The show, like other episodes, has several educational moments. The Prince mentions the Crab Nebula and the Andromeda constellation. He also mentions that planets are made of water, gas, or stone. When he sees Randy's fire burning, he mentions that fire shouldn't be left alone. The narrator mentions that the Klondike is known for its gold mines.
The musical score is really pretty. Sometimes the music is symphonic orchestra and sometimes it is electronic.
