  • This full story is easily one of your favorites, because it was one of mine

"The Crab With The Golden Claws" is a very action-based story with a great start, middle and finish. It is also the most memorable episode in Captain Haddock's respects, as we as the audience are first introduced to him this time.

So, based on the book, I loved the opening scene of Herbit Dawes getting caught and thrown over by Alan and his thugs. That opener wasn't shown on the comic book so it gained the episode an advantage. Other factors were just like the book, excellence, I loved and laughed at Captain's sobbing when Tintin first meet's him and talks about Haddock's mother. The fighting scenes such as in the desert, and etc are really well done.

One negative aspect about this episode was the flying-in-the-place scene where there were mean't to be two bad guys tied up at the back, this episode, only had one, and the way he managed to escape was also different from the book. But okay, the rest was really cool. Alan is an excellent villain, and this is his second appearance on the series, one of my favorite villains if not the best.

Overall, this was a very action-based, well written and touching story as well as it's all time humor by the Thompson twins when one of them forgot his cane, but more importantly, this was the first of Tintin and Captain Haddock's adventures together. I loved this episode and thought it was very well done.

"The Crab With The Golden Claws" is the ninth book in the series (Chronological order).moreless
