  • Not everything the CIA does is grounded in violence and killing; sometimes, a more subtle approach works better.

This is probably my favorite episode of The Agency; it is at least my favorite episode of the second and finale season.

Sure, the serious was about the workings of the CIA and how they help to fighter terrorist and prevent global unrest. But not everything the CIA has does has been along the lines of violence or assassination. Instead, and this is a perfect example of it, thew will resort to things along the lines of subervigue and misdirection; in this case, the creation of a false, near pornographic movie showing a political leader, and potential terrorist threat, engaged in an act that goest against EVERYTHING his religion and culture believes. (Plus, it is interesting to see how one "of the few and finest" is not always battle ready).

And just when you think the protagonist have lost their edge and are in trouble, along comes a twist that does exactly what was wanted, but without the public embarassement to the figures involved.

Since the series ended before it could be syndicated, and there is no word on whether or not this show is going to be release on DVD, I would say good luck if you want to find the episode to watch. (I might have a copy somewhere; I hope that I have not taped over it. This one is a real keeper).
