The Alan Thicke Show

Show Summary

The Alan Thicke Show is a variety talk show from Canada where the Canadian actor and songwriter goes one-on-one with some famous people. CTV teams up Allan Thicke with musical director Bob Murphy and announcer Brian 'Frosty' Forst to interview actors, musicians and interesting people who stop by the studio. With over 101 episodes logged on the network, Alan interviews Erick Estrada, Judy Collins and Deborah Winger as his first guests on the show. The artists promote their upcoming films, and Alan shows off his musical skills by playing a set with Bob Murphy. His next show does not go as well after guest Barbi Bent gets annoyed with some of Alan's questions. By mid-season, the host's popularity grows, landing guests like Rodney Dangerfield, Anthony Hopkins, and Leslie Nielsen. Ex-talk show host Merv Griffin stops by to give Alan some pointers and actor Lou Ferrigno shows Allan that he can still lift heavy weights. A rivalry also begins between actors Pete Barbutti and Orson Bean, who compete for the guest with the most visits, with each of them logging four appearances.
