    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Team Riou Point: After saying a sad farewell to their favorite spots, the Wises have a strenuous but not particularly dangerous walk to the landing strip, where they are met by Paul and Donna Claus and flown home.

Teams Hawkins Glacier and Flower Lake: The five make their trek to the frozen lake where Paul's plane will be picking them up. They have to stop several times to thaw out frozen extremities, and at different times it seems that both Greg and Tim might not make it because of sickness or injury. They camp overnight next to a fire, getting very little sleep but staying a bit warmer in the -20 degree weather. They make it to the frozen lake on the second day and are dismayed when the plane isn't in sight; but they are soon able to hear the sounds of Paul's plane, and fly back safely to civilization.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Jennifer: (when Carolyn shows that her old jeans are too big for her new body) You're going to have to find some non-stylish fat person and donate them.

      • Carolyn: Something I've noticed is that, you know, change and learning and exploration and discovery are all what Alaska is. That's the entire experience up here, I've had. It's just learning things and discovering things and just watching things change.

      • Allan: We know we're close, but you know it's a relative term out here. In a place as vast as Alaska, you know you're close, well what the heck does that mean? You could be two miles but it could be the most treacherous two miles you could ever imagine.

      • Greg: (on losing feeling in his hands and becoming dizzy) That was not fun. Lot of pain in that thawing my freaking fingers out, man. That hurt. But, um, got some food in me, got some drinks, and uh, these guys built me an awesome fire and I feel a ton better. I'm ready to go for another twenty feet. (Tim cracks up)

      • Tim: (after thawing out his frozen hands) Bye fire, I love you!

      • Allan: I challenge anyone to try this, and I guarantee your spirit will be broken. This is one tough place.

      • Tim: (washing in the airport's men's room) Dude, I feel like a hobo, getting clean in an airport.
