I read that the penultimate leg will be based in Scotland, with a possible switchback task to Season 3's 'highland games' Roadblock at Dunnottar Castle.

    So it seems:

Leg 1: USA > Tahiti (French Polynesia)

    Leg 2: Tahiti (French Polynesia)

Leg 3: Tahiti (French Polynesia > New Zealand

Leg 4: New Zealand > Indonesia

    Leg 5: Indonesia > Vietnam

    Leg 6: Vietnam

    Leg 7: Vietnam > Botswana

    Leg 8: Botswana > ?

    Leg 9: ? > Switzerland

    Leg 10: Switzerland > Germany

    Leg 11: Germany > Scotland

    Leg 12: Scotland > USA

    It's a great route!

There seems to be a sighting in Belfast though, so I'm not sure where that squeezes in? Maybe Ireland/Scotland were combined for Leg 11. Or otherwise maybe there was only one leg in Africa? Not too sure on that yet.

RFF noticed something was not right when they were overflowed with locations (with some speculating a 13-leg race, which we all know would be unlikely these days) - so they thought Switzerland & Germany was one whole leg:

Leg 1: USA > French Polynesia

    Leg 2: French Polynesia

Leg 3: French Polynesia > New Zealand

Leg 4: New Zealand > Indonesia

    Leg 5: Indonesia > Vietnam

    Leg 6: Vietnam

    Leg 7: Vietnam > Botswana

    Leg 8: Botswana > ?

    Leg 9: ? > Switzerland > Germany

    Leg 10: Germany > Scotland

Leg 11: Scotland > Northern Ireland

Leg 12: Northern Ireland > USA

Asia has what, 3 legs this time around? At least better than taking up basically the entire first half of the race (cough, 19 & 21)

Hopefully Africa got 2 legs - and I love how Europe takes up the last third or so of the Race

Impressive route, or is it just that it's way better than TAR 21's?

What? Germany and Switzerland as one episode? That's somewhat disappointing

I was unhappy about Germany as I find it less interesting than most other European countries, so I would be happier if it is only half a leg (although disappointed that Switzerland doesn't get a whole leg).

My prayers are finally answered with some UK legs! It is SO overdue!

Definitely an amazing route! The best in recent memory at least.

Yeah, I'm not too particularly happy with Europe for TAR22, but what the heck, I had high expectations for TAR19 and 21's trips to Europe, and wound up disappointed. The Denmark leg of TAR19 is in my top ten episodes of all time but everything else, was mediocre. Mallorca, Spain was pretty decent all round.

Why Germany and Switzerland in one leg? That's disappointing. I guarantee it will still end up being my favourite leg of the next season, either that or Scotland/New Zealand. Not keen about Ireland as I did not like it on TAR12, or another trip to Vietnam and Indonesia.

The positives - Tahiti, New Zealand, Botswana, that other African country (assuming its Kenya), Berlin & Switzerland, and Scotland. I'm sure it will still be a worthy installment.

You didn't like TAR12's trip to Ireland? I really love that leg!

And it is Northern Ireland this time, so I think it will be different, although I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I don't think Namibia would be there because I think a different international version of TAR was filmin g in Namibia at the time. (unless they decided to collaborate and set up similar tasks to cut costs) But you never know!

Anywhere in southern Africa is possible!

Will there be a 'Switchback' task available this season?

I don't know but there are possibilities in some of those locations, so hopefully!

Hmm, and those possibilities looking at it are:

Bali, Indonesia - although I heavily doubt that since it's first visit was only a couple seasons back.

Vietnam - Always possible, maybe a TAR3 switchback to your favourite Detour featured on Leg 12, lol. Or TAR10

Botswana - An even bigger possibility, to TAR7.

Switzerland - Maaaaaybe. Depending on whether they venture somewhere besides Eiger Nordwand.

Berlin, Germany - This would be a switchback to TAR6, either the 'Beer' or 'Brats' Detour or possibly the swing jump at the olympic stadium. I doubt the soap box derby on Devil's Mountain would qualify to make a re-appearance.

Scotland - This is in my opinion, the most likely outcome for a 'Switchback', and if so.... awesome. In what appeared in TAR3, the Roadblock in Aberdeen was perfect, three challenges of the highland games.

    Ireland - A TAR12 reference perhaps?

Most of those sound great! Seeing 'Basket Boats' and 'Basket Bikes' would be too good to be true!

oh yeah, I forgot that there is a Switchback according to RFF. They're doing the briefcase Roadblock in DC which is recycled from the Family Edition's second leg.

One of the better challenges on that season, so I don't mind seeing it again.

It appears that Leg 6 isn't Vietnam; it's Botswana!

This brings our Asia legs down to a number of 2 - that has to be a record! And the first time Vietnam gets only 1 leg!

    New route possibilities:

Leg 1: USA > French Polynesia
    Leg 2: French Polynesia
Leg 3: French Polynesia > New Zealand
Leg 4: New Zealand > Indonesia
    Leg 5: Indonesia > Vietnam
    Leg 6: Vietnam > Botswana
    Leg 7: Botswana
    Leg 8: Botswana > ?
    Leg 9: ? > Switzerland > Germany
    Leg 10: Germany > Scotland
Leg 11: Scotland > Northern Ireland
Leg 12: Northern Ireland > USA

    OR

Leg 1: USA > French Polynesia
    Leg 2: French Polynesia
Leg 3: French Polynesia > New Zealand
Leg 4: New Zealand > Indonesia
    Leg 5: Indonesia > Vietnam
    Leg 6: Vietnam > Botswana
    Leg 7: Botswana
    Leg 8: Botswana > Switzerland
    Leg 9: Switzerland > Germany
    Leg 10: Germany > Scotland
Leg 11: Scotland > Northern Ireland
Leg 12: Northern Ireland > USA
