Episode Summary

The teams are instructed to travel from their Pit Stop at the Pieskowa Skała castle in Krakow, Poland and fly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, over 5,500 miles away. Once there, the teams search for the best way possible to get to the Batu Caves, traveling by both bus and train. A Detour proves frustrating for some teams and even more frustrating for another, who first has to wait out a Yield before making their way to their chosen task. Stress and frustration cause two teams to switch Detour tasks, which one arguing over the specifics of what's required for a particular task. After completing the task, the teams then travel by taxi six miles to Taman Sri Hartamas and locate a newspaper. A Roadblock proves physically tiring for several of the Racers, but assistance from locals and perseverance see them through the task. Ultimately, a missed flight connection dooms one team. Unable to quickly attain alternate travel, they fall far behind and do not arrive in Malaysia until well after the other teams, leading to their elimination.moreless

Here we are down to the final 5... Who will be eliminated next is always the question, If It Is an elimination leg though.

All round this was pretty good, Eric & Danielle were Yielded by the beauty queens which peed them off. I don't mind them though, all the teams left are decent. However seeing Charla and only Charla on every single commercial for the next episode kind of annoys me now.

The Detour proved to be a little tough; both choices. I wasn't really begging for one particular team to be eliminated because they're all ok but only one can take home the $1 million so more and more competitiveness comes...
Watching Oswald & Danny bicker was quite entertaining especially since they don't normally fight. At the Roadblock Kandice accelled which gave them a first place finish at the pit stop. Charla & Mirna finished second which wasn't too bad however we hardly saw Uchenna & Joyce because of their costly mistake. Eric & Danielle settled in for 3rd and Oswald & Danny 4th. Here was the sad part... The end, Even though they already won TAR Uchenna & Joyce were still very nice people who deserved to remain but someone had to go. If this had been made a non elimination round, they'd have to eliminate someone on the final four (Directly no non eliminations until we're left with 3 teams) otherwise It would be too predictable. Uchenna & Joyce were eliminated and were put in a strange position because they'd never lost before. It was very emotional.

But overall, better, great, ideal and can't wait for next weeks's episode which is probably a non elimination leg considering there are four in total and only two have passed, but It just makes it suspenseful. Great scenery this week though!moreless

  • Eric reveals his true character.

    "Superb"
This was another exciting leg of the Amazing Race, lots of action, lots of fun, and a yield.

The yield is where Eric revealed the stuff that he's really made of. Snips and snails and puppy dog tails? No. He's made of bitterness and hatred. Calling the Beauty Queens 'hookers' for using the yield was childish and uncalled-for. I couldn't believe that this is the so-called insult that he came up with for another team ~who were simply playing the game by the rules as laid out~. If the roles were reversed, you absolutely can NOT tell me that Eric wouldn't have used the yield.

What was even worse was that Danielle just stood there and let him call the other girls that. She obviously has no self-respect, if she lets her boyfriend get away with verbal abuse like that. It doesn't matter if he's saying it to her or to someone else, it's disgusting, and she should have told him that, and told him to stop.

Eric totally ruined my enjoyment of this leg of the race, and I'd really like to see that team get eliminated now, just because Eric is disgusting and doesn't deserve to win anything at all.moreless

  • This just shows how bad D&K are, they wasted their yield and Eric and Danielle have the chance to back stab them at the second yield (by the way, Phil said this is the FIRST of TWO, just for some who didn't catch that)moreless

    "Good"
This was a good episode, it was real competitive in a way, except that Uchenna and Joyce couldn't make the connection, so the fight for last place didn't really occur because they were so far behind. The yield spot was a little bad, but so are Dustin and Kandace (as a team they are bad in my opinion) so it equals out to be a "ok" to "a job well done" episode which is why I gave it a 7.3 our of 10. In the next episode, I want the second Fast Forward to come out, then the second yield the leg after that, because this next leg is insured to be non-elimination (3 legs are left, leg penalty is you have to be first or suffer a 30-minute penalty, the 30-minute penalty would be futile because everyone's trying to get first in the very last leg, so it can't be in the second to last leg, it has to be in the third to last leg.)moreless

  • One team tasks a huge risk and gets behind

    "Great"
This episode had one major problem, which was that Uchenna and Joyce got so far behind. Because they were at least 12 hours behind it did not really matter what happened because we all new they would come in last. The producers could not really help this but I felt like they should have showed them more in the episode. It was like they were trying to make us forget they were there so that it could be an exciting race between Eric and Danielle and Oswald and Danny. Besides the fact that one team was really far behind I really enjoyed this episode. Even though it did not really matter I still wanted to see my favorites come up front. I thought it was interesting to see how the flights turned out in this episode. It was so exciting to see if Uchenna and Joyce's flight worked out. I also loved how Charla and Mirna were able to figure out a better flight that no one knew about. The computer thing was good strategy and it was funny to see how they reacted to it. I also loved the yield. I thought that adding the yield to the game was such a good idea. It is interesting to see how some teams feel it is wrong to use it and others jump on the opportunity to use it. It should be interesting to see the new rivalry between Dustin and Kandice and Eric and Danielle. I also liked the two choices they had to choose between at the detour. The cookie one was risky but they could get it really quickly. These types of needle in the haystack challenges are always so interesting. I really liked how they made it so there was another choice so that no one had to do the cookies forever. I also like the newspaper challenge. It was interesting to see how they did on the bikes and how easily people helped them. Overall this episode was interesting but I didn't like how Uchenna and Joyce got so far behind and they stopped showing them.moreless

The only two reasons I rated this so low is because one: one of my fav's was eliminated and 2: another d*mn eating challenge!

I knew from the moment when Uchenna and Joyce booked that tight sceduled flight that they were going to be eliminated, which is sad really, because they are very good competitors. That being said, they have already won once, so it's not too terrible. I think they mainly did it to rekindle something that was lost in their relationship and judging by the way they were looking at each other at the end, I'd say they accomplished that.

Just about every team took a different flight and a different route to the first clue box. Charla and Mirna poorly chose to do the eating task after Charla could barely woof down the sausage from the last episode. Cue the other teams catching up. The designs that the teams had to paint for the detour were absolutely beautiful. I think they all did a good job. Mirna surprisingly took on the task of the painting detour and the later Roadblock with minimum complaining (after switching Detours from the cookies: I was surprised at how fast Eric and Danielle got through that by the way). Could the producers and editors be trying to make viewers like Charla and Mirna because they actually won it all? Hmmm...

I was surprised when Charla and Mirna didn't yield anyone. As for the bullcrap that was coming out of Mirna's mouth about playing fair: yeah right. I scoffed at that. As for the Beauty Queen's yielding Eric and Danielle, go girls! I was all for it. I hate Eric and Danielle and the Beauty Queens stressed: It was nothing personal, merely competitive. It's a race, it's supposed to be. Of course Eric and Danielle whine and cry about it, team Drama Queen, always good for a "Dirty Hooker" comment. That was kind of uncalled for. Hmm, Danielle was yielded last time she was on the race, do you see a pattern here? Maybe people just don't like you Danielle...

Eric and Danielle whined about being yielded all the way to the roadblock. Collecting old papers? Come on, can't the producers come up with something better then that? Anyway, they all got it done as quickly as they could. Don't know about team Cha Cha's decision to BUY the newspapers they needed. I almost thought they were going to get penalized for that. But Oswald and Danny are cute even when they are fighting, "I'm haattting you!" in the roadblock made me laugh outloud. I love these two.

Quite a turn of events from who was in the lead last episode. I'm pretty ok with the Beauty Queens coming in first. Don't know about that Charla and Mirna though (although they do a good job on research. That earlier flight? Brilliant! Not letting Eric and Danielle on the computers: Rude, but GREAT!).

Since Uchenna and Joyce are out, I'm hoping that it's Cha Cha or the Beauty Queens 1st at that final finish line. Geeze, anyone but Eric and Danielle! They've done nothing but fight and complain the whole race!moreless
