Episode Summary

The teams receive a clue taking them from their Pit Stop at the La Moset Church to Arequipa, also known as the white city, where they must find a shoe union. After some jockeying for position, all teams end up taking the same ten hour bus ride and one racer pays the driver to open only the front doors when they arrive. Once at the shoe union, the teams do a Roadblock that requires them to shine five pairs of shoes and earn five Peruvian sols. Some teams use charm to complete the task quickly, while others find it hard to convince the locals to stop. The next clue sends the teams on two different flights to Santiago, Chile, leaving and arriving 45 minutes apart. Once in Chile, the teams do a Detour: Shop or Schlep. Several teams choose Schlep, which involves hauling 180 books eight blocks, while the remaining teams choose to Shop for five different ingredients at local markets. Strategy comes into play as the teams figure out the best way to complete the tasks and one team has a run-in with locals over apparent dishonesty. In the end, it's another close finish, with only seconds separating the ninth place team and the one that's eliminated.moreless

  • Great episode

I thought it was quite an enjoyable second leg with similarities to the previous season, which is great. Romber, well, yes they are the team to hate especially because they're smart ass's.

On this second leg, the ten teams continued through South America and caught buses down to a smaller city where team members encountered their first Roadblock.

Fairly decent task of shining shoes. Meredith and Gretchen making the first of two flights to Santiago, Chile was awesome. Chile is a nice place, full of heat and beauty.

There, teams faced a Detour involving a buying or book task. I would have chosen the books, to save money. You never know when your going to need it. Romber acceled, sending them to the Pit Stop first. Ron and Kelly were close on second place.

I honestly found it difficult to tell the difference between Debbie and Bianca and Megan and Heidi. All I can really put that to is: Megan and Heidi are hotter lol.

Brian and Greg formed an alliance with Megan and Heidi, and to see them vs each other to avoid last place and a possible elimination was even worse. Megan and Heidi were eliminated which was a tearjerker, especially when Brian and Greg gave them a farewell to them.

Overall, this was one of those silly five-clue only legs with no additional tasks or clues but the whole leg in general, was very exciting. So, great episode.moreless
  • Don't you love to hate Romber

Again Rob & Amber are the team that you love to hate

Or hate to love either way of putting it

And that Meredith & Gretchen despite their age

Seem to be making it fine and are the fan favorites as they are up there with Chip & Kim & Karen & Linda

Nobody thinks that they are getting a fair playing field

Due to the infamous Romber being in the race.
