  • An interesting second leg! This season is getting good!

In this episode, team set out from the Hacienda Pit Stop in Mexico City, and travel by bus to tropical Cancun!

Cancun was extremely beautiful. I enjoyed the stunning scenery that was featured in this episode. The clear blue lagoon waters that teams swam, paddled and jet-skied through were just plain mesmerising!

I really enjoyed the Roadblock in particular. Swimming with dolphins is just awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed watching that part.

The Detour was slightly a let down, even if one of my favourite teams aced it!

The Fast Forward was very tricky and frightening! Imagine climbing that pole and spinning back down to earth! That would be awesome!

As usual, The Amazing Race has surpassed expectations. Keep it up!moreless

The eleven remaining teams took off from the first resting point and made their way from Mexico City into Cancun where teams began to judge others, bicker slightly during the Detour and more otherwise. My point for this episode was the scenery of Mexico was stunning. The competition was fierce I guess, I was glad to finally see Derek and Drew up at the front of the pack due to them winning the Fast Forward. Their position raised from eleventh to first. Wicked ending there.
As other teams began the second leg, a team that is now one that I'm cautious about are Aaron and Arianne. Simply, one of the most judge mental teams on the shows history. They speak of other teams like it is their place to. I remember watching the teams climb to the top of that pyramid years ago when I was just watching the particular scene on television. Nice task and to be sure, a very nice country. When teams progressed to the Detour, the second bus was delayed due to a crash on the highway. The Detour task was ideal, I would have kayaked and gained an easy clue, my final choice. Flo and Zach as well as Derek and Drew are my top teams. But that may very well change over the course of the race.
The Roadblock was impressive, swimming through a dolphin pool full of dolphins, nice.
Then, the teams raced for the next Pit Stop where Tramel and Talicia were eliminated. Overall, a good outcome, a fairly interesting leg but on the best side, the awesome scenery.moreless

    ADD TRIVIA
    • There was some speculation that Derek and Drew might end up in fifth or sixth, despite having claimed the Fast Forward, because they left on a later bus than the lead teams. As things transpired, the Fast Forward gave them enough of a lead that they were able to skip ahead and finish first. Edit
    • The teams finished in the following order: #1. Derek and Drew. (Fast Forward) #2. Aaron and Arianne. #3. Heather and Eve. #4. Michael and Kathy. #5. Flo and Zach. #6. Ken and Gerard. #7. John Vito and Jill. #8. Andre and Damon. #9. Dennis and Andrew. #10. Teri and Ian. #11. Tramel and Talicia. (ELIMINATED) Edit
    • Time Penalty: Phil informs viewers that Andre/Damon received a 78 minute penalty for unwittingly not following the provided map in the previous leg's Wheels Detour option. It included a 48 minute time penalty + a standard 30 minute punitive penalty. This caused them to depart 9th, even though they'd been 7th to arrive. In addition, they overslept, leaving a further 3 minutes later than they could have. Edit

    • Aaron: There's some sexual tension between Flo and Zach. My question is why they haven't just done it? Arianne: The question is why they haven't just done it? Edit
    • Talicia: Team TnT, we're all wet, no longer explosive and we're signing out. Edit
    • Tramel: We gotta go to Chakanab, no Chankanav. (pauses) Why can't nothing be called Detroit? Edit

    • Ken refers to Jill as "Catwoman," comparing her dexterity to that of the same-named feline criminal played by Lee Meriweather, Eartha Kitt, and Julie Newmar in the Batman television show, and Michelle Pfieffer in the movie Batman Returns. Edit
