Agent Gaad mentions that this was the closest they had got to a KGB agent on American soil since they got Rudolph Abel in 1957. 'Rudolph Abel' was an alias used by a KGB agent named Vilyam Genrikhovich Fisher, who was found guilty of spying in the USA in 1957 and sentenced to 45 years imprisonment. He was exchanged for US U-2 pilot Gary Powers four years later.
