Episode Summary

EDIT
Andy and Opie are left alone while Aunt Bee goes out of town. Peggy, Andy's new girlfriend, takes great delight in helping the boys handle things. Trouble is that Floyd's warnings of Peggy using her feminine wiles to "snare" Andy cause Andy to be fearful that she is indeed trying to "walk him down the aisle".moreless

I loved this episode--particularly the appearance of Joanna Moore. She's absolutely watchable and would have made a great series regular. Her warm charm and strong personality complement Andy's perfectly (even better than the wonderful Helen Crump a few years later). Her singing on the porch with Andy is delightful and she is a younger version of Aunt Bee with a few more curves! Although this episode is not particularly well written, it is charming and folksy and absolutely watchable!moreless

    • There's an interesting camera shot in this episode. When Peggy is putting finishing touches on the dinner table the camera is set up behind the table, about where the hutch would be allowing a shot of the entire main room of the Taylor home from the dining room wall.

    • Barney does not appear in this episode but one might imagine that had Don Knotts been available he would have been the one to instigate Andy's suspicions against Peggy instead of Floyd.
