  • Barney has feelings too!

    8.5
An extremely well written and performed episodes. Any episode featuring Barney is almost always a winner--and this one is no exception. As this is early on in the series, we are also in the beginning phase of the Barney Fife character development. It's fresh and even funnier than usual, because we feel the energy of Don Knotts in an even more intense manner. This episode is particularly heart-warming in its conclusion as Barney gets to see that he really is cared for by the town citizens.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • When the citizens are leaving the cells, Andy speaks to one woman and says "Hey Nellie, it's a nice dress". This would be the initial appearance of the extra that came to be known as Nice Dress Nellie. She would appear in scores of shows over the next 7 years, but would never again be named or credited. Despite the scores of appearances, she would never utter a line.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (Barney is reading Aunt Bee's charges as Andy is trying all of the arrest cases)
      Barney: Age...
Aunt Bee: You say one more word, Barney Fife, and you'll regret it!

    • Barney: It's like they say, 'Once burnt, lesson learnt... one mistake, better cake... once bit, best forgit.'
