  • Trivia

    • When Andy and Barney are leaving the McCabe house Andy pushes Barney into the car thru the driver's side door and the reflection of a boom mike can clearly be seen in the windshield.

  • Quotes

    • Aunt Bee: Oh, dear, if I knew there was going to be a summit meeting in my kitchen, I would have washed the floor

  • Notes

    • This is the first and only time that Andy mentions how many bathrooms are in his house.

    • This marks the last appearance of Barney Fife in the series. Although Don Knotts would find marginal success as a film actor he typically portrayed characters very similar to Barney and was never fully able to be shake his image as the lovable, bungling sidekick.

    • This is the highest rated episode of the series.

  • Allusions

    • Set during the height of the cold war (1945-1988), summit meetings between The United States and The Soviet Union were often considered vital to the deterrence of a nuclear war. These meetings allowed the two nations to make concessions and compromises that kept the peace. Aunt Bee's cooking could have very well have prevented a nuclear holocaust!
