Does anyone else think that The Andy Griffith Show is the greatest family show ever made?

I dont know if its the greatest family show ever, but it is certainly among the best. Few shows then or since have the sense of values that this does. Compared to, say, Leave it to Beaver, it gets its message across without being patronizing, or sledge hammering it over your head, and it does so in a humorous manner that feels real.

It was a good show until Barney left and it went to color.

I would say so. It expressed life's experiences and taught lessons in a peaceful funny way. Wish more shows were like this.

Lots of great lessons. A show like this would never be made today, and if it was the homespun wisdom would get lost in today's PC
